The Chicago Bulls are coming to The Community House! This camp will teach the latest techniques in ball handling, passing, shooting, and rebounding while also teaching children how to be student-athletes and great teammates. Every participant will receive top flight instruction from our professional Bulls/Sox Academy coaches who have learned from the Chicago Bulls coaching staff. We provide a fun and safe environment for children to learn the game, as well as teach life lessons such as discipline, respect, and sportsmanship. Each participant will receive a replica autographed photo of Derrick Rose, camp t-shirt, and personal scouting report. Your child will not only have fun, but will be given important tools to become a better basketball player. This camp will focus on encouraging middle and early high school aged athletes to develop their basketball skills for all level players. Focusing on the fundamentals of ball handling, passing, shooting, agility, positional and competition to nurture the total athlete. Coach Soemer has been coaching youth sports for 21 years. During this time he has coached basketball and soccer at various levels. He has also taught physical education for the past 14 years. MUSIC/CHORUS Branch Out into Music Singing and playing an instrument can be so much fun, but some students just dont know where to begin. This fun-filled class includes music basics, singing, and playing the recorder. From there, students may be able to branch out into playing another instrument, or learn to sing harmony in a choir. ​ THE SCIENCE OF GARDENS Gardening, kids dig it. Each day of class will have a hands-on science and gardening theme. On the first day of class, we will learn about the basic needs of plants and students will plant seeds. On each subsequent day we will explore topics such as leaf adaptations, flowers & pollinators, fruit, seeds & seed dispersal, beneficial insects, garden art, and sustainable gardening. Feeding Frenzy: March 22 YUM YUM..its feeding time at Ecoadventures, and theres no better place to be! Crickets, worms, mice, flies, fish,..you never know whats on the menu, but its sure to be gobbled up!! Feeding time at EA is a busy, busy, day and we need your help to make sure all the hungry mouths get their fair share. Throughout the day, a few participants at a time will go behind the scenes with the EA staff and assist in animal husbandry and care. Throughout the day the feeding frenzy will continue...you might see a snake swallow its meal whole, a croc do a death roll on its lunch, or a chameleons long tongue rocket out to grab a cricket. Learn about carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores, and how animals eat. Play games, make a craft, and even a few snacks of your own as you will definitely work up an appetite!
