Join Summit Schools staff and our community partners for a day on of fun, interactive activities at Learning Extensions Camp, also known as In-Service Day Camp. -Theme: Spring Break Science. Well explore, create, experiment, discover, and engineer all in the name of science! -Experiment with soil science and composting methods as the C.R. Solid Waste Agency teaches us about landfill engineering. -With the Cedar Rapids Water Department, well test water quality, PH levels, and more as we learn about the science of water. -Summits own art teacher, Miss Carol, will have us discovering the science of art through messy and fun art experiments. -Alpaca Fiber Arts will teach us all about alpacas and llamas as we create felted take-home soap and/or coasters. Registration is open through Thursday morning, March 24. Sibling & referral discounts available! This exciting event is open to ALL STUDENTS K-5th Grades! What to Avoid Packing for Summer Camp?
Summer camp is a great chance for kids to stay active and meet new friends. Thus, children are usually asked to leave values at home, including electronics. Camp life includes a lot of activity and it would be easy for iPods, gaming consoles, and other items to be lost or damaged. Instead of staying plugged in, camp is a wonderful time for kids to detox from such items. Of course, if a child is going to a technology program, a laptop might be acceptable.
To keep everyone safe, fireworks, weapons, and illegal drugs and other items need to stay home....

Curtain Up! Musical Theatre (3 weeks) - St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School
For rising 1st-8th grade students This amazing program is for all students interested in musical theatre. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of a production and to discover and develop theatrical and musical talents. The students in this camp learn music and dance and most importantly, how to work together and support one another to deliver a wonderful performance. The mission of this camp is to boost confidence and to build friendships through cooperative effort and fun. This summer we will go Under the Sea with The Little Mermaid. All ages will enjoy participating in this action-packed show! ***Note: this is the NSCs USA CUP Week - expect uncommonly busy parking and traffic this week*** Welcome to back to AKA Archery Week. Thanks to John "Jack" Wachlarowicz (SCV-MDHA Board of Directors & MN DNR Hunter Education Instructor) and his professional instructors and the MN DNR, this is a weeks opportunity of a lifetime for any kid!!! Not only do kids get tremendous instruction with Archery but we try to instill a greater sense of the outdoors and taking advantage of our nations parks! Featured Fieldtrip: Science Museum, St. Paul - featuring the National Parks Omni Movie attraction, Thursday, July 21. FYI - The actual day camp runs from 9am-4pm though kids are welcome to get dropped off as early as 7am and picked up as late as 6pm. There is so much activity between these hours! One Week Half-Blood - CAMP DEMIGOD INSTITUTE
Campers (ages 9-15) will experience our unique program centered on innovation, mentorship, leadership and community-building. DIGIVATIONS Camp Demigods Camp Half-Blood Unites with Camp Jupiter are a blend of world building through innovation, role playing and speculative fiction. These Camps are based on the principles that kids have an enormous reservoir of creativity and innovative ideas which they look forward to sharing with other like-minded individuals who hold common interests. Please register using a computer. Please do not use a tablet or smart phone when you register because the program will not work properly. The registration process takes about an hour and asks you to answer about 50 questions. The program does not allow you to save your work, so it is best to answer the questions in one sitting, electronically sign all the waivers and pay your deposit so you are fully registered. Many of the questions at the end of the application are best answered in consultation with your child: so that they express their interests, their first choices of cabin (demigod or fandom), etc. Tuition covers all meals, housing, instruction, guest lectures, ImagineSTEM blog, mentoring, supervision, materials, and recreation fees.
