NOTE: Please only select this session if the weeks you would like your child to attend are not available on the Mates session. Please choose 2 weeks minimum. A class designed to introduce young children to sailing. Students will sail in a 14-foot sailboat, with three to four other children and one instructor. The class is a fun introduction to sailing with the goal of having students become comfortable in small boats. Specific skills include basic concepts of sail trim, steering and overall safety. Magical Gardens Gardens are a major part of what makes the Hermitage so special. During this week of camp we will celebrate various gardens as we take your young artist out into the beautiful Rose Garden, Sunken Garden, and Rain Gardens at the Hermitage. Campers will do observational drawings, landscape paintings and create their very own ‘magical garden. Through nature walks they will discover garden sculptures and learn about patterns in the natural world. This year campers will also have a special opportunity to contribute to the Hermitages very own vegetable garden! Allow your artist to discover magic in the Hermitage Gardens! The program pushes kids past their usual limitations and helps them reach their highest fitness goals. The camp focuses on long distance running, parachute sprinting, hand and eye coordination techniques, agility, and resistance training using the TRX body-weight exercise straps along with the RIP trainer exercise resistance pole, and mixed martial arts training.
