Every successful babysitter has a few tricks up their sleeve to keep kids happy, healthy, and most of all entertained! Campers will complete an interactive notebook filled with kid friendly snacks, learning activities by age group, engaging games, and more. We also cover topics child care professionals need to know such as how to build a resume, interviewing with potential families, how to find child care jobs, caring for children with special needs, and being a professional. We’re debuting 5 mini-camp sessions designed specifically for the “older kiddos!” These camps focus on fun and skill building over 3 consecutive afternoons of concentrated creation – allowing time for larger projects and deeper investigation of themes hand picked from customer recommendations! These camps run from 1-4 in the afternoon and are designed for students in 5th grade and up. Early bird registration rates are $75 for 1 mini camp, $100 after May 15. July 19-21: PROJECT RUNWAY – Make it work! Spend 3 days exploring fashion design and create your own jewelry and sewn accessories!

Web Development Students learn to design & develop interactive modern websites using professional tools, frameworks and libraries. This camp provides a strong Front End Web Development foundation as students learn user interface design and coding in HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript. Mobile Game Development Students learn to design and code a mobile game App using Unity, a professional game development platform widely used by independent (indie) game developers and studios, and C#, an industry standard object-oriented programming language. Incoming 5th and 6th graders will learn the basic usage and safety of HAND TOOLS including a coping saw, file, sanding block, and cordless drill. Some small machines may be used such as the scroll saw, spindle sander, Dremel engraver, and drill press. All activities will be demonstrated and supervised by Mr. Caris, the current Woodworking teacher at NBJH. Students will choose a project from a beginner list.
