Is There a Dress Code?
Different camps have different types of dress codes, which is why parents should read all registration materials and welcome packets in advance. For example, a Christian camp may not want youth to wear two-piece bathing suits or spaghetti strap tank tops whereas a different camp may not care. Most summer programs will ask that youth wear age-appropriate clothing. This means avoiding any t-shirts or clothing items that have offensive or suggestive language or any overtly sexual and violent imagery.

Be a Civil War Soldier: Kid’s Camp - Mansfield, LA
Have you ever wanted to be a Civil War soldier? Are you between 8-12 years old? Mansfield State Historic Site is hosting an “immersive” event that will allow you to experience what many of the soldiers of the American Civil War did. Be enlisted, set up your camp, drill, enjoy a period type lunch, and more! There are 16 slots available for this program and pre-registration is required. Teen Summer Garden Camp - Carlisle, PA
Cumberland County, PA – New this summer, a horticulture program designed just for teens! Join the Master Gardeners of Cumberland County for their first-ever Teen Summer Garden Camp on two Mondays, June 20 and June 27, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Held at the Penn State Extension Office in Carlisle and the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA, this fun-filled camp offers teens ages 13-15, or in grades 7-9, the ability to explore and discover the “behind-the-scenes” of a garden. The first camp session on June 20 offers teens the opportunity to delve deeper into horticulture topics and engage in hands-on learning about the scientific method, photosynthesis, chromatography, soils, microscope skills, and plant identification. Teens will also build their very own gourd birdhouse. Come prepared for plenty of exploration, observations, activities and discussions! For the second camp session on June 27, teens will travel to the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA.
