LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Urban Trail Bike Camp - Kids on Bikes Community Center
This fun and safety focused urban trail riding camp offers kids the opportunity to explore local trails that connect our city. Base camp will start at the Kids on Bikes community bike center, which allows connection by trail onto Shooks Run, Greenway Trail, and Midland Trail. Each day, participants will ride to a new location by utilizing bike trails and some neighborhood streets. The goal is to ride to a new destination each day such as to the library, Garden of the Gods Visitor Center, Velodrome, Popcycle Bridge, Pulpit Rock and more. The focus of this camp is on cycling safety, trail etiquette, bicycle commuting as transportation and basic bike maintenance skills like changing flats and solving gear problems. Please bring a sack lunch, a backpack, water bottle and a jacket. To prepare for camp, please make sure your child is comfortable on dirt with two wheels before registering for this program and would be comfortable riding 8-10 miles (sounds like a lot but we take a lot of breaks!). 7193553573.0

Up to three fun filled days (Monday, 12/28; Tuesday, 12/29 and Wednesday, 12/30 - you pick which day(s) you want to be here) with horses for those 13 to 17 years of age. No previous riding experience necessary. All riders, no matter their experience level will have fun playing in our indoor arena with our holiday trail course. The course can be ridden a number of different ways enabling the camper to build on their riding skills no matter where they are starting from. Campers will also be helping with some part of the day-to-day care of the horses and ponies that live here at Meadowsweet Ranch and each day will include some educational time in our heated club room. Breaks and lunch will be enjoyed in our heated club room also.

Sports Camp week 4- Soccer - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of soccer camp, children will focus on the basic skills of soccer such as dribbling, passing, shooting and goal tending , as well as agility and foot-eye coordination. Goal tending will only be taught to those children who volunteer for this position. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship. The third hour of soccer camp will be spent discussing the various rules of soccer such as hand ball, pushing and tripping, and playing modified games of soccer. As the skills of each child advance over the course of the week, the third hour will consist of more realistic game-like situations. Equipment will be provided. New T his Year! Friday Field Tri ps! Camp - Junior Theater S2 M-F 9:30 am (Ages 7-12) - Beck Center for the Arts
This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.The Junior Theater Camp is designed for all students, whether or not they have prior performance experience. Campers work with theater professionals learning techniques in acting, singing, and dancing as they rehearse for their original show. This fun performance is a culmination of their work and features acting scenes and musical numbers. Actors present the show for family and friends on the last day of camp, August 12 at 11:30 am and 6:30 pm on the stage in Beck Centers Music & Dance Building Recital Hall. Information concerning performances and tickets is distributed the first day of camp. Students are required to participate in both performances. 3 weeks; Mon - Fri; 12:30 - 2:30 pm; Tuition: $270 (Does not include admission to performances) Tickets to the performances are $5 each. Performance seating is limited. There is a 30-minute informational orientation for parents and students on the first day of camp. Lunch-time supervision provided for students enrolling in both the Visual Arts and Junior Theater Camps.
