This camp is designed specifically with teenagers’ safety and well-being in mind. As parents, we want our teenagers to be safe, but we also want them to grow up feeling comfortable with themselves, having a healthy self-esteem and self-image. This means equipping them with the skills and knowledge to assess and deal with both physically and psychologically threatening situations. Safety at school cannot be overstressed. This year's event includes a flea market, bake sale, and a chili cook-off. Animals within a food chain have some important adaptations for hunting and survival. Learn about top predators like orcas, sharks, giant squid, and osprey and find out some incredible strategies the prey of these predators utilize to avoid detection. This overnight camp is for ages 7-13 and runs Sunday night through Friday at 4:30 p.m. It is a summer favorite featuring outdoor activities, hiking, camping and cooking outdoors. The Day Volleyball Camps offer instruction at the beginner and advanced levels. Beginners will focus on knowledge of the game, competitive fun, and fundamental ball control. Advanced campers will cover the proper technique for basic skills, offensive playsets, defensive formations, strategy, teamwork and attitude, and setting personal and team goals. Campers will be placed on teams, depending on skill level, with specialized coaching on each level. Each camper should bring comfortable volleyball or cross train-ing sneakers, extra shirt and socks, and a container of water. WCU and its camp staff are not responsible for lost or missing items.
