Adult campers between the ages of 18 and 99 with physical and/or developmental disabilities. 2 nights. Personal Care: Participants must be independent with their personal care needs. Individuals who require more than minor assistance with bathing, dressing, feeding and other personal care will not be accepted. Individuals requiring medical care other than the administration of medications will not be accepted. There will not be a nurse in attendance- medications will be managed by trained camp staff. Behavioral Challenges: Individuals with severe behavioral issues including acting out, inability to remain with the group, self-injurious/assaultive behaviors or aggressive tendencies will not be accepted. Campers will be assisted in ski activities and/or camping activities but must be interested and willing to participate in order to attend either of these programs. Staffing Ratios: Participants must be able to function safely in a group environment. Staff to camper ratios will be 1 to 5 during most times of the day. Capoeira Kids Camp Kids! Join Capoeira Utah this July for fun, fitness, and a fantastic cultural experience at Capoeira Kids Camp. Capoeira is a unique Brazilian martial art that combines kicks and dodges with acrobatics and dance like movements all performed to live music! Each day we'll do special capoeira training in levels for both beginners and experienced students as well as: Portuguese language Singing and Playing Instruments Acrobatics training Crafts (make your own maculele costume and sticks, wooden machete, and/or feathered samba headress) Traditional dances: Samba, maculele, a capoeira choreography and more! Camp is open to kids ages 6-11 with or without previous experience in capoeira. Summer Stretch Yoga Camp: Beach Theme - Marine Park Building
Weekly Theme: Beach Balance like a palm tree, roar like a lion, and stretch like a giraffe in this fun-filled yoga camp! Camp begins with a 40 minute class where students learn new poses and breathing techniques each day on an imaginary yoga adventure. Class ends by relaxing with peaceful music. After class, the excitement continues with yoga stories and games, a break for lunch, and a creative take-home art activity. Art projects are yoga themed and will relate to the poses learned that day. Fun activities throughout the week include parachute games, treasure hunts, outdoor craft time, face painting, and more! Yoga has been shown to improve focus, confidence, and coordination in children. Please bring a snack, lunch, and water. CAMP Leadership Training Camp is back for its third season in Summer 2016! We are thrilled to be continuing this program as a two-week session jam-packed with outdoor adventures, group challenges, nature hikes and leadership discussions. This exciting camp is a combination of all the usual Hitchcock camp games and songs and leadership skills that will apply to being a Junior Counselor at Hitchcock and just in life! We hope to incorporate our favorite activities from last year, such as rock climbing, the ropes course challenge and our camping overnight, and go on new trips too. Well get a chance to both work with the younger campers to put what we learn into practice and to be campers ourselves playing in the woods and exploring nature.
