Teen weekend is for youngsters age 12-17, and campers have the option to bring a friend of the same sex and approximate age. This weekend program allows for interactions amongst peer groups, as well as a learning experience for campers without diabetes. Educational sessions relating to “teen issues,” “school issues,” and “How-to-be-a-friend” are led by pediatric endocrinologists, nurses, dieticians and mental health professionals. We understand that networking and the support of a teen’s peers is critical at this age, so we provide fun and interactive activities such as a beach party, luaus, casino night, and a lot of land sports.

Create both sculptures and functional pieces out of clay, using a variety of techniques and exploring texture and form. The older group will include instruction on the potters wheel. $30 materials fee is due to instructor at first class. An after school program especially designed to give teens experience on the potters wheel. Students will have sole access to a wheel for each class (there will also be generous out of class studio time available) and will learn the process with instruction from a well experienced art teacher and potter. Have you ever wondered how to make fire without matches, purify water, and build your own shelter? Or what you would do if you were stranded on a desert island? If so, then join Survivor Frog! We will learn to recognize and prepare edible plants, track and stalk wild animals, and make rope and baskets out of plants that grow in your neighborhood park. Tanadoona Day Camp is a carefully and creatively designed program that encourages campers to build their confidence, explore the natural world, learn new skills, and discover their spark in the great outdoors through PLAY! Groups are kept small and lead by counselors who are highly dedicated to helping children discover and ignite their sparks.
