The goal of this camp is to spend 4 days having a blast playing the game of volleyball, learning new techniques, developing team chemistry and exposing teams to new concepts and strategies. The coaches will cover individual skills (passing, setting, attacking, blocking, serving) as well as team concepts (offensive systems, defensive patterns, serve receive patterns, transition). There will be a day and a half of training followed by two days of competition. Individuals may also attend. They will be skill tested and put on teams. The emphasis for this camp is on building team concepts within each group of players. (Ages 11-18) Check in will be Sunday at 4:00 pm and Check out will be Wednesday at 11:00 am 863-680-4474

St. Catherine's Koinonia 3 (SCK3) - Panora, IA
Mark your calendars! It's not-quite-but-almost that time of year again! St. Catherine of Siena will be having its third annual Koinonia retreat at the end of February next year (2016). What's Koinonia? It's a Greek word that means 'community'. This student-led retreat helps students grow in their friendship with the community as well as their relationship with God. More details will come soon, but for a general idea of what's going on, here's a bare-bones schedule: -Friday, Feb. 26: we leave St. Kate's and carpool to the St. Thomas More Retreat Center in Panora, IA in the late afternoon and stay for two nights and what turns out to be two days which we spend in prayer and fellowship with one another -Sunday, Feb. 28: we leave Panora in the late morning/early afternoon and return to DSM Applications will be available in the near future. The cost for the retreat is $25 (financial aid is available to those who need it) and more details will come as we get closer to February. And feel free to invite your friends! You don't have to be Catholic to come!

Learn to BUILD simple machines using gears, levers and pulleys and then MOTORIZE these machines using LEGO and K?NEX educational kits. Our written Engineering curriculum BUILDS MATH and SCIENCE skills with hands on Kinetic learning techniques. Each day we will build new simple machines and conduct experiments to see how well they perform. STEM CURRICULUM. Students will understand why a machine works and will learn how to manipulate a machine to go faster or slower. Fine motor skills, critical thinking skills; imagination and confidence will increase in this fun-filled class. Our program reinforces the Elementary school math and science curriculum.Half Day students: Please bring a snack and a drink with your childs name clearly marked each day. Animal Trainer/Zoo Keeper Camp (In Depth) July 13th & July 27th 9am – 4pm $95 Ages 11+ Led by one of our animal keepers, this in-depth experience is for the older students who are serious about learning about animal husbandry and medical care of animals. Space is limited for this course as students will get to tour around the facility and learn specific information and needs of our animal collection. Students will get to not only encounter animals in our behind the scenes animal room, but to assist with animal care, food prep, cleaning. The camp will get to put together an animal enclosure for one of our animals by working together as a team. Students learn to train an animal and even make an enrichment toy for our animals. Each session emphasizes the principles and concepts to enhance the individuals fitness skills while speaking on character traits. Camp will include the FACE class, outside activities, and agility/coordination training. Each week will have a different theme. Prizes will be earned at the end of each week.
