Outdoor Youth Day is February 4,2017 at the Everglades Youth Camp 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will be the Florida Sportsmens Conservation Association 14th Annual Outdoor Youth Day Event and It’s FSCA bigiest day of the year. This event has buggy rides, airboat rides, pony rides, and canoeing, archery, gun range instruction, fishing and wildlife shows to reach kids of all ages and show them the benefits of being outdoors instead of in front of a TV. The only driving education offered to teens is Driver’s Ed in high school (sitting behind a desk) and then 6 hours behind the wheel to get their permit. These Camps are based on the principles that kids have an enormous reservoir of creativity and innovative ideas which they look forward to sharing with other like-minded individuals who hold common interests. The Lacey Park Day Camp is full of fun activities for children grades K thru 6th. This is an outdoor recreation camp. Campers will learn about the benefits of being physically active; as well as, having a healthy lifestyle in the outdoors. Each week campers will engage in various group games, art projects, participate in a talent show and weekly field trips to the Hanford Teen Center, Hanford Plunge and the local Library. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. A weekly food menu will be provided at request. If your child has a particular taste, you may consider bringing a sack lunch for your child.
