Develop a sense for recognizing the thematic (the directors goal of the film), dramatic (storytelling elements) and stylistic aspects (genre) of a movie. Besides having fun at the movies and eating popcorn each week with your friends, you can share your insights and newly found skills of thoughtfully critiquing a film. Well usually take two after school sessions to watch one movie. Each Monday well watch half of a film and follow with a brief discussion, which includes identifying key characteristics and sharing what we thought worked well or not. Youre making up songs, and they sound pretty great. Everybody thinks so. Yet, youre curious how to make future songs sound pretty greater. This workshop moves past the rigid structure that got your improv songwriting on its feet, and smoothes out the edges. Week one takes you back through song structure and function in finer detail, adding some new ways to build on simplicity. The second week works on two pairs of skills – beginnings/endings & leading/following. Week three delves into the wild world of fancy tricks and slick pop moves to prep your tool belt for heaps of song types. The only requirements are completion of Pop Songs Level 1 and a vested interest in ear-friendly musical makes ups. Taught by iOWest Musical Director Eric Schackne (323) 962-7560

Adventure Horse Camp for girls wanting immerse oneself into horsemanship, horse play, trail riding and horse care as well as many other fun activities. Every girl needs a sleepover and what better way to spend the night than at the farm. Tuesday and will be a day camp from 9am - 3pm. Thursday will start at 9am and stay overnight till Friday at 3pm. Please bring to camp: Riding boots, helmet (optional) Tuesday & Wednesday bring lunch, snacks, and drinks. Thursday: Bring overnight lunch we will provide dinner. Adventure Horse Camp for girls wanting immerse oneself into horsemanship, horse play, trail riding and horse care as well as many other fun activities. Every girl needs a sleepover and what better way to spend the night than at the farm. Tuesday and will be a day camp from 9am - 3pm. Thursday will start at 9am and stay overnight till Friday at 3pm. Please bring to camp: Riding boots, helmet (optional) Tuesday & Wednesday bring lunch, snacks, and drinks. Thursday: Bring overnight lunch we will provide dinner. Friday: We will provide breakfast and lunch. Bring snacks to share with your fellow campers, sleepovers are always better with evening snacks.
