Rosie — the self-proclaimed sassiest kid on her block of Brooklyns Avenue P and based on a girl Sendak knew as a child growing up in Brooklyn — entertains everyone by directing and starring in an Oscar-winning movie based on the exciting, dramatic, funny (and slightly exaggerated) story of her life. Members will work together to come up with the design of the show and use club time to execute some set and prop pieces, as well as costume pieces. Club members will be expected to memorize their lines and work on their songs and choreography outside of rehearsal. During the first few meetings, members will get to know... 2155455323.0
The Great Race with LEGO® Bricks - Bethel Christian Center
Weve got a week to design motorized vehicles with LEGO® components that will take us around the globe in record time. Our projects and destinations include: •A speedy train to travel across the USA •An ultralight plane to fly from New York to Paris •A dunebuggy to race from Paris to Moscow •A dogsled to travel across eastern Russia •A sailboat to cross the Pacific and get to the finish line Students build motor-driven vehicles with LEGO® components, customize their projects and run them on missions. Our class keeps an eye on how our virtual race opponents are doing, and answers questions together at the end of each leg to gain extra mileage or place roadblocks to slow down the competition. This is a fun way to develop new building skills. Students learn how different vehicles work, how the size and placement of gears affect their projects power and speed, how pulley belts are used to transfer motion, how to make a trailer for vehicles, how wheels and axles work, and other science and engineering concepts. Students take home a LEGO® mini-build and camp T-shirt. Students do not take home the LEGO® projects or pieces from the class. This is... 206-466-6882
