I supposed if you're going to a summer camp it should be in a beautiful setting. Camp Togowoods doesn't disappoint! My daughter and her BFF had what they called a "super awesome fun time" at the camp this past summer. This summer they volunteered for kitchen duty. Kids Pursuit is ready to bring MEGA Sports Camp to the community of Minot. Children entering K-5th Grade will get to spend each evening making friends, learning sports skills, and having FUN! Each night will start off with a large rally where the kids will get pumped up with music and dramas as they learn valuable sports related life lessons and learn about a God who LOVES them! Your child will get to sign up for a sport to focus on for the week. They can choose from Soccer, Basketball and Cheerleading! All kids up to age 18 welcome, no charge for current EquQuest horsemanship students; $250 for new students Camp dates are March 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18; 10 AM to 1 PM each day. Kid's learn to catch their own horse, tack it up, do ground work and ride (as age and confidence level appropriate). Get's them outside in sunshine and fresh air, helps them develop compassion for animals and puts them in touch with nature. Bring sunscreen, water and a snack. Tim Miles is pleased to announce the 5th year of the Tim Miles Basketball Camps for the summer of 2016. This camp has an emphasis on the fundamentals of the game and is geared towards younger children of all abilities. When you picture a marine biologist, what comes to mind? Do you think about studying manatees, octopus, turtles, plants, and algae, training dolphins and whales, or the habitats and conservation of marine life and the health of the ocean? Marine biologists work in many places: in or on the ocean, salt water marshes, the beach, on a submersible vessel, or in a laboratory examining tiny creatures under a microscope. Dive into our hands-on ocean adventure as we explore these many facets of marine biology! Learn about sea mammals and the cleverness of an octopus, race a squid, learn to eat like a whale, build your own submarine, make your own fish print, examine tiny life under the microscope, explore why penguins wear those little tuxedos, and discover the endless uses of seaweed! Each session will include a story to stir up our curiosity, an arts & craft, and a venture outside weather permitting. Create a connection and love of outdoors in your children. Realize and go beyong your dreams of Zorro, Three Musketeers and lightsaber style through learning fencing as a modern sport! A safe martial arts practice with a sword as a medium! Maître darmes Guillaume Béchaux, has been teaching fencing for 20 years and brings a personal attention to each of his students. Guillaume managed numerous school groups and clubs in France and trained the French wheelchair Olympics team for Athens and Bejiing. The program will develop analytic capabilities and dexterity through a combination of pedagogical games, technicals exercises, tactical exploration and an understanding of the importance of time and space. Fencing is the art of quick reflexes, elegant and athletic movements and mental acuity. It is a practice that enhances an individuals ability to problem solve while also developing physical agility, concentration, flexibility and coordination. 5105311300 x2500
Park Adventures Camp - Historic Yates Mill County Park
This adventure camp allows participants to gain a sense of accomplishment by attaining goals in a unique historical setting and diverse natural environment. Daily camp themes include (1) Explorers & Mapping, (2) Pioneer-Farmers & Agriculture, (3) Millers & Mechanics, (4) History Detectives, and (5) Artist-Naturalists & Ecology. Among other activities, Day 1 includes a hike around the park, orienteering exercises and a canoe float; Day 2 includes a planting activity and visits to a local organic farm and the State Farmers Market; Day 3 includes a mill tour and an inventors workshop with simple machines; Day 4 includes a group mystery to solve and a road trip to the NC Museum of History; and Day 5 includes wildlife studies and sketching, pond dipping with nets and cane pole fishing. This program is almost full.
