LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Creative Dramatics - KidsOnStage - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
NO CLASS ON FEBRUARY 13. This class is designed for 3rd-5th grade students. Using their natural abilities and imaginations, students will learn how to create their stage characters through theatre games, teamwork, problem solving; and, at the same time develop students confidence. Class includes an introduction to onstage and backstage needs for a show. A final production, April 1-2, will be presented on the main stage. INSTRUCTOR KATHY DILLABER is a JMU graduate, B.A. Communication Arts & Educational Certification, plus graduate studies. Post college, she performed at Tecumseh, Ohio; ‘Land of Oz, N. C.; Busch Gardens, Williamsburg; and local theatres. Since 2013, she participates annually in the Broadway Teachers Workshop, NYC, working with Broadways top artists onstage and backstage. Workshops explored the theatre craft as it pertains to school and community productions. Other experiences include a techie backstage and a theatre instructor where she has directed numerous childrens productions. Float amidst God’s beautiful creation for 4 days and 3 nights along the Missouri River. Sr. Teen Camp August 1-6 Missouri River Float Trip Boys & Girls entering grade 10 and up to age 19 Cost: $170 Register by July 25 This is a pre-register camp with limited space. Check-in time: 10am-12pm, Monday, August 1 Registrations available at www.lewtana.com Plenty of canoeing, swimming, Bible classes and day hikes along the river are on the schedule. Additional items to bring: a life jacket, a set of warm clothes, good hiking shoes, a flashlight, a modest one-piece swimsuit, a small backpack. Insect repellant and sunscreen are provided. If you have a canoe or extra lifejackets we could borrow please contact us. Camp ends with a program on Saturday at 1:30. Parents are encouraged to attend the program, as there are awards given out and a slide show of pictures from the week. This is a pre-register camp with limited space. Fall Teen Adventure Weekend - West Branch, MI
Canoe trip on the Au Sable River with overnight lodging at YMCA Camp Timbers. Co-ed, ages 13-17. Join YMCA Camp Timbers staff for a TEEN ADVENTURE WEEKEND canoeing the Au Sable River! The weekend begins with a Friday night stay at Camp Timbers before launching on the Au Sable River Saturday morning. After spending Saturday canoeing the river, participants return to Camp Timbers in the evening to enjoy S’mores around a campfire. The weekend ends with debriefing, unpacking, and a sampling of adventure activities at camp on Sunday. Cost is $75 for Y members and $90 for non-members and includes: meals, lodging, use of canoeing gear, transportation between Camp Timbers and the Au Sable River, and programming.
