Students will strengthen their academic writing skills through reading, interpreting, and writing contemporary poems. This is an opportunity for students to focus on the specific details of a texts word choice, structure, imagery, and symbolism, both as readers and as creative writers. Songs will be chosen from the classic Disney songbook through newer Broadway favorites. Past performance pieces have included such favorites as "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman" from Frozen, "Evrybody Wants to Be a Cat" from Disneys The Artistocats and "Choose Me" from The Castaways.
