My 12 year old son said he feels at home in this 4-H camp for youth ages 9 to 14. It has helped him become a leader, solve problems, increased his self-esteem, develop independent thinking skills and improved his communication skills. Great Escape is partnering with Pleasant Hill Parks & Recreation to host a week long bowling camp. Attendees will be divided into age groups to learn fundamentals such as approach, delivery, hand position, release, spot bowling, and spare conversions. Certified bowling instructors will be instructing the camp. Little Racquets Tennis teaches basic warm-up, motor, and racquet skills by engaging kids in stimulating drills and games, including: imaginary obstacle courses stationary cone forehand / backhand exercises high five volleys short court rallies and relay races! 216-455-0154
Strider Push Bike Camp - Cottonwood Creek Park
This is where it all begins! Learning fun and balance as young as 2 years old, kids and families spend 45 minutes doing age appropriate games and skills in order to achieve proper balance and steering skills. Strider (push bike) camp is geared toward kids who are walking with their bikes, not fully sitting on the seat and not yet gliding or striding. But, it is also for those kids who are ready to learn how to turn, stop and maneuver obstacles. Parents will be hands on during this class. Taekwondo (TKD) is an ancient Korean martial art that can be learned by anyone, at any age. TKD will teach you valuable self-defense skills and will increase your energy and self-confidence as you see your health improving at the same time! We will use stretching, toning, calisthenics, and cardio-muscular exercises as we practice and perform proper punches, kicks, and blocks. Do you get writers cramp each time you are asked to put your thoughts on paper? If so, writing camp is just the ticket for you! During our time together we will explore the options for brainstorming and will work together to create some fantastic written materials. Students will learn tips to become better writers--whether developing a poem, fictional story, or essay. Patty Soemer holds a Masters degree in education from Liberty University and has taught various subjects to a variety of ages for the past 21 years.
