Creative Writing: Imagination Station - Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School
As kids grow and mature, they sometimes begin to lessen the value of imagination within the context of their writing. This workshop will teach your children appropriate methods by which they can explore creative writing in academic and non-academic settings. Most importantly, it will remind them to value and nurture their imaginations. Activities will include journaling, community creativity circles, character creation, short story drafting, and more. Mr. Chuck Wagner earned his MA in English from the University of Kansas and his MFA from Indiana University. We want you to become the next Leonardo Da Vinci! Using LEGOs, students will be introduced to Da Vincis inventive machines. This is your chance to be challenged with projects built around creativity, design and engineering. Leonardo created and improved upon the greater mechanical wonders of the world! Inventive minds will be able to build Odometers (to measure the distance a robot has traveled), Lifting Jacks (to hold & raise heavy loads), and not to mention the inspiration for the HELICOPTER.
