Mountain Biking Adventure 201 - Greensboro Day School
MOUNTAIN BIKING 201 $250 Grades 6+ July 25-29 8:30AM-2:00PM Did you know that within a half mile of the Greensboro Day School campus is access to over 35 miles of the best municipal mountain bike trails in North Carolina!?! Looking to build on a successful first year at the 2015 GDS summer camp , we are back for even more fun for 2016 with two sessions available! [MTB 101 June 13-17 and MTB 201 July 25-29] For a full week, your child will get the opportunity to safely explore our amazing local Greensboro mountain bike trails while also learning basic mountain bike repair and maintenance. Instruction will be provided from highly experienced local bike shop mechanics combined with skills instruction and guided rides from certified International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) guides. This camp will split time between instruction, skills sessions and most importantly bike riding! All your child needs is a bike in good working condition with knobby tires and a helmet. Fundamentals of Drawing for Kids - Artists Exchange
Students will learn all the basic skills necessary, practicing techniques such as form, shading, line, and perspective; all geared toward making drawings more lively. Girls Field Hockey - Brookwood School
Fall 2016 will be here before we know it and Field Hockey Tune-Up gives the foundation to be ready for the season. Skill development, fitness training, and teamwork are hallmarks of this established program. Basic skills, stick handling, rules, and field positions are taught through drills and game play. Rigorous conditioning, "eating to play," and strategies for rest and recovery are all part of the program; athletes learn to prepare not just for a single season, but for a life of physical activity. Coach Mike Wellington teaches physical education at Brookwood School. He serves as a U.S.A. Field Hockey Level II Certified Northeast Region coach and coaches U16 Premier Field Hockey for Seacoast United. As the Assistant Athletic Director and a beloved varsity field hockey coach for over twenty years, he has helped players from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade Eight find their physical strengths and talents. Actors Workshop - The Philadelphia School
The Actors Workshop Club is geared toward 5th-8th grade students who love to act/perform and want to learn more about how to create theatrical productions. Taught by Philadelphia actor and performing artist, Katie Croyle, for the past three years, Actors Workshop explores performance techniques and methods, including: improvisation, vocal exercises, physical movement (and dance), script study/scene work, and self-created work. This club is a great opportunity for students to explore their own creativity and use performance as a medium for self-expression. Girls Volleyball Evening Camp #1 - Hollinger Fieldhouse
WCU Volleyball Camps offer instruction at the beginner and advanced levels. Beginners will focus on knowledge of the game, competitive fun, and fundamental ball control. Advanced campers will cover the proper technique for basic skills, offensive playsets, defensive formations, strategy, teamwork and attitude, and setting personal and team goals. Campers will be placed on teams, depending on skill level, with specialized coaching on each level. Each camper should bring comfortable volleyball or cross train-ing sneakers, extra shirt and socks, and a container of water. WCU and its camp staff are not responsible for lost or missing items.
