Held in Ashland, Nebraska at Carol Joy Holling Camp and Retreat Center, this event will gather youth from across the ELCA for intentional leadership development and faith formation. Our guests include Presiding Bishop Eaton, Kevin Strickland, Assistant to the Presiding Bishop/Executive for Worship, Stephen Bouman, Executive Director for Congregational and Synodical Missions of the ELCA, and several other wonderful speakers and teachers. Our featured presenter is Lyle Griner who will be coaching us on Peer Ministry. Each synod will select two youth to participate and send one adult to accompany them on the journey. Registration will be covered by a special grant. Your only responsibilities will be travel and being open to what God has in store for you through this event. Registration closes on October 1, 2015.

Summer Stretch Yoga Camp: Circus Theme - Marine Park Building
Weekly Theme: Circus Balance like a palm tree, roar like a lion, and stretch like a giraffe in this fun-filled yoga camp! Camp begins with a 40 minute class where students learn new poses and breathing techniques each day on an imaginary yoga adventure. Class ends by relaxing with peaceful music. After class, the excitement continues with yoga stories and games, a break for lunch, and a creative take-home art activity. Art projects are yoga themed and will relate to the poses learned that day. Fun activities throughout the week include parachute games, treasure hunts, outdoor craft time, face painting, and more! Yoga has been shown to improve focus, confidence, and coordination in children. Please bring a snack, lunch, and water. Level 1 & 2 Mountain Bike - Ute Valley Park @ Pinon Valley
This camp is for kids with Level 1 and Level 2 mountain biking skills. Kids will break into two groups after the first day of camp based on age/ability. LEVEL 1 After a kid has become confident riding a bicycle on two wheels, with the ability to steer and brake the bike appropriately, we move into more skill development of bicycle handling, overall confidence, and building up young mountain biking ambassadors. We teach appropriate trail and group riding etiquette and build on the childs ability to brake, steer, and handle the bicycle on gravel both uphill and downhill. LEVEL 2 This level becomes the difference between a ‘beginner and an ‘intermediate mountain biker. Though age is not the determining factor, kids are usually at least 7 years old and have been riding a bicycle confidently for a couple years. With level 2 comes more substantial mountain biking with drills specific to handling a bicycle on singletrack. Capacity for riding grows to longer consecutive riding stretches, maintaining energy and enthusiasm for riding, and the ability to show multiple riding skills naturally.
