"Alivers" will enjoy a fun and challenging combination of both on-site and off-site activities. Campers will be involved in on-site activities such as the group challenge course, swimming, crafts, hiking, campfires, talent shows, enjoy a group campout and cookout, play games, prepare skits for the weekly talent show, participate in devotions and help lead worship services. Other activities include high ropes, GaGa ball, and more. Off-site, campers may canoe on Lake Reese (about 10 miles from Mount Shepherd) and/or hike on Ridge Mountain (about seven miles from Mount Shepherd). 336-629-4085

Send a Deweyville Pre-Teen to camp - Odessa, TX
Butch's Sunday School Class is collecting spare change to send a pre-teen from First Baptist Church of Deweyville, TX (a suburb of Houston) that was devestated by the flooding last week to Highland Lakes Camp this summer. Normally the church raises funds by having fundraisers but as you can see...they will have to devote all their time to restoring the church. Chapel Hill's youth have attended this camp several times in the past with great spiritual success.

Soccer (Grades 3-5) (PM) - MA Upper School Soccer Fields
This camp will emphasize basic skills, playing as a team, and sportsmanship. Instruction will focus on the fundamentals of soccer in a setting of encouragement and confidence building. Drills to improve skills will be added and games will focus on team play and scrimmages will be held to demonstrate tactical understanding. All participants need a soccer ball, shin guards, soccer shoes, a water bottle, a snack and sunscreen. Full-Day Newcomer Camp - Stanford University
The Full-Day Newcomer Camp is for those who want to spend a full-day with the Stanford Coaching Staff and college players learning the game of golf! The philosophy of the Newcomer Golf Camp is to introduce the game of golf to juniors aged between 5 and 12 with either no experience or a couple of years of instruction. Campers will learn the fundamentals of the game in a safe, fun and stimulating environment. Instruction will be given at a pace intended to maintain the attention of campers and at the same time be appropriate for each individuals skill level. Active and energetic instructors will lead the youngsters through a series of games and exercises that will develop confidence and passion for the game. Groups will be organized by current skill level. The camp environment is designed to allow participants to meet other young golfers and help foster an enthusiasm and passion for the game. Fishing - Big Fish - McLean Community Center
Fish and Explore will transport campers daily to lakes, rivers and other local waterways. Everyone will catch fish. Campers will be taught the basics of fishing from casting and rigging, to knot tying, to selecting tackle and lures and identifying fish. Advanced lessons on watercraft identification, reading the water, targeting specific species of fish and river navigation are also available. Students will fish different types of water: public and private lakes, reservoirs, ponds, rivers, streams, and creeks over the course of the week. All skill levels of anglers are welcome.
