Mon, July 25, 2016 - Fri, July 29, 2016 Summer Art Camp at the SCGA Morning Classes: 9:00am - 12:00pm: Bugs ‘n’ Blooms (Ages 4-7) Shrink down to explore the world of creepy crawlers and fabulous flowers! Students will be introduced to the beauty and fun of insects and will explore their environments in a class where art meets science. Young entomologists will create a variety of 2D and 3D forms using materials from nature and an army of art supplies using paint, collage, clay, printmaking, mixed media, and more. Come bug out with us! Storytellers (Ages 4-7) Storytelling helps students improve their language skills, instills a love of reading and stirs imaginations. Visit www.maskansascity.org to register! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: WHEN IS THE CAMP? The camp will, Insha'Allah, be from Friday, August 12th - Sunday, August 14th. WHERE WILL THE CAMP TAKE PLACE? Rock Springs 4-H Center in Junction City, KS. It is about 2 - 2.5 hours away from Kansas City. Transportation will be provided, Insha'Allah. (Please see details below.) WHO MAY ATTEND THE CAMP? Young youth boys and girls ages 10-18 only. WHAT IS THE COST TO ATTEND THE CAMP? The cost is $120 per child by July 20th midnight. After July 20th, the cost will go up to $140/per child. Registration space is limited! WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER? For the early registration discount, the deadline to register is by Friday, July 20th. After July 20th, the prices will go up to $140. Camp Deep Space - San Juan Del Rio Catholic School
Camp Deep Space takes campers to the edge of the universe on a mission to make a distant planet habitable for humans using LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits. Our videos and animations help campers build and learn programming, tackle building challenges, and hone their robotic and project planning skills. Science factoids are interspersed throughout, accompanying engineering design activities tied into space exploration. Camp Deep Spaces curriculum has been developed by Carnegie Mellon Universitys Robot Academy. Campers will work in teams to complete their missions. As an extra bonus, campers construct and launch two of their very own Estes Rockets. Campers will take their rockets home with them. Parents are invited to join us on Fridays Family Day to view their childs rocket launch. We are on our way to the final frontier! Adventure Camp - Catholic Youth Camp
This is a unique opportunity for campers who love the traditional CYC experience but crave adventure in the great outdoors. We invite you to immerse yourself in the wild and test your survival skills as trained counselors and staff lead participants through primitive camping activities. Build important skills while setting up tents, making fires, and cooking outdoors. Understanding Maps - The Evergreen School
In this class, students will explore a variety of different kinds of maps. By playing geography games and participating in fun activities, students will create a variety of maps, including cartograms, choropleths, dot maps, proportional symbol maps, maps with isolines, and flow maps. If youre a sports fanatic, dont miss this camp! Spend the week learning about and participating in your favorite athletics. Work on sportsmanship and teamwork as we strengthen our gross and fine motor skills. *This class is designed to help with kindergarten readiness. These themed camps offer a fun, engaging learning environment as we work toward kindergarten readiness through different weekly topics. *3, 4, and 5 year olds are encouraged to join our morning preschool camps, where we work on a variety of social and academic skills. *Please note: Students who are registered for a morning and afternoon camp within the same week are invited to stay for FREE supervised lunch and recess between 11:30 am-12:30 pm.
