Teen Sewing Camp - Snohomish, WA
Projects designed specifically for teens ages 13-17... learn about sewing, how to read patterns, how to use a sewing machine, different stitch options, etc. We will be making projects during the week (Monday-Thursday 10am-4pm) and then having a "showcase" party on Friday July 31st from 12-2pm to show off what the teens have made. ***Kids will need a sack lunch*** *** Sewing machines are available to rent if you don't have one... a $10 per day rental fee applies and we must know BEFORE the class starts if your child needs to rent a machine***

Teen Summer Garden Camp - Carlisle, PA
Cumberland County, PA – New this summer, a horticulture program designed just for teens! Join the Master Gardeners of Cumberland County for their first-ever Teen Summer Garden Camp on two Mondays, June 20 and June 27, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Held at the Penn State Extension Office in Carlisle and the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA, this fun-filled camp offers teens ages 13-15, or in grades 7-9, the ability to explore and discover the “behind-the-scenes” of a garden. The first camp session on June 20 offers teens the opportunity to delve deeper into horticulture topics and engage in hands-on learning about the scientific method, photosynthesis, chromatography, soils, microscope skills, and plant identification. Teens will also build their very own gourd birdhouse. Come prepared for plenty of exploration, observations, activities and discussions! For the second camp session on June 27, teens will travel to the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA. Campers will take a wagon tour across the research farm, explore thousands of annual and perennial flowers, visit the Idea Gardens, and create a colorful bandana using vegetable dyes. Little Linguists Spanish Camp - Norwood Local Park
Are we in Mexico? You would think you were with all the fun Mexican crafts, games, sports and music. Create your own mask, pinata, sombrero, maracas and much more. All in Spanish! Vamos Amigos! Bring your bathing suit each day for water fun! On Wednesday, Campers walk to the Bethesda pool adjacent to the park. Campers must pass a swimming test or stay in the shallow end. There will be a $25 material fee due the first day. Bring a bagged lunch. This camp will emphasize basic skills, playing as a team, and sportsmanship. Instruction will focus on the fundamentals of basketball in a setting of encouragement and confidence building. Drills to improve skills will be added, and games will focus on team play and tactical understanding. Reading Rockets is a program designed to be an early intervention for students going into first, second, or third grades. The goal of this program is to provide additional support for students who could benefit from reinforcement in reading skills over the summer. Reading Rockets will help minimize the regression in skills that sometimes occurs over summer vacation.
