Sing! - Palace Education and Performance Center
Working with well known movie and Broadway songs, children will learn the fundamentals of singing. Each class will explore warming up and vocal technique with age appropriate tunes and vocal games. Children will also learn musical theatre performance techniques which will culminate in numbers performed for family and friends at the end of the year performance. Songs will be chosen from the classic Disney songbook through newer Broadway favorites. Past performance pieces have included such favorites as "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman" from Frozen, "Evrybody Wants to Be a Cat" from Disneys The Artistocats and "Choose Me" from The Castaways. Skills learned: fundamentals of vocal technique and placement, breath support, vowel formation, diction, "acting the song" Spring focus-solo performance technique, character voice 512-869-7469 x3

Half Day Camp is open to children who are entering PreK (must be 4 years old) or Kindergarten in the 2015-2016 school year. THIS IS A 4 DAY CAMP - NO CAMP ON MEMORIAL DAY Wild Life Wonderer From mammals to reptiles, birds to insects, plants to ocean creatures, this is a week all about our world full of extraordinary organisms! Each day, we will focus on a different type of wildlife, and learn how they all work together to create our web of life. 415-876-3764
Tri-It Triathlon Clinic - Butler Campus
TRI-It! This camp is designed for beginner triathletes that have competitive swimming or running experience. Find out why triathlon is one of the fastest growing sports in America and learn about NCAA scholarships for female athletes! USA Triathlon certified coaches (including Dr. Karen Edwards, Director of Afterschool and Summer at Laurel) will teach basic skills for completing your first triathlon. Learn open water skill techniques, bike handling skills (including braking, riding in a group, and safety skills) and running to maximize speed and minimize impact. Transition skills and strength and conditioning for endurance sports will also be covered. Tuition includes coaching, transportation to swim venue, and lunch. Basic swim proficiency is required. Can you tell a bird from its call? Identify a mammal from its prints in the mud? Ever wonder where flying squirrels live? How to catch a snake or a bullfrog? Come join us as we adventure through creeks, marshes, forests, and the many natural places of beauty we have to explore on The Heights campus and all around the metropolitan area. The various ingredients of this camp make for a fantastic summer experience. From the personal attention and fun atmosphere of learning, to the outdoor adventures and games, this is an experience hard to beat or imitate. Activities: short classes, nature walks, daily journal, creek exploration, games, field and fishing trips, and specimen collection. Session I will focus on mammals, reptiles, and birds. Session II will focus on insects and trees. Staff Anton Vorozhko teaches 6th grade homeroom in the middle school. Contact Anton Vorozhko at The Heights School, Notes Save plastic jars with caps and old shoes. The normal dress is basic outdoor attire (shorts and gym shoes).
