Participants in this course will learn the "basics" of child care. Topics will include engaging in age-appropriate activities, safety and security, handling emergency situations and how to manage those hard-earned dollars! Basic child care skills will include diapering, feeding and maintaining a safe environment. Students will learn how to properly administer CPR in a life-threatening emergency, such as choking. Overland Kids Halloween Party
Mark your calendars, put on your costume and join us for a fun spooky night with all your friends. We will have costume contests by age groups, pizza and a drink for the kids, scavenger hunt, games and prizes, and candy! This is a free, safe, indoor trick-or-treating event open to children ages 2 to 12 of Overland Residents, Overland Business Owners, and City of Overland Employees and their families. Parents are required to accompany their children for the entire duration of their stay. Registration will start on October 1st and will end on October 29, or until the maximum number has been registered. This event will be held on Friday October 30 in the gymnasium at the Overland Community Center from 6-8:15 pm, with check in time between 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. only. All participants must be in costume and donate at least one can food item to enter the event. Register on Oct. 1 and be one of the first 175 overland kids entered into this year’s extraordinary Kids Halloween Party.
Frostproof Church of God Youth Fishing Tournament - Lake Wales, FL
THERE WILL BE A BASS TOURNAMENT to benefit the Frostproof Church of God Youth Department on the Kissimmee Chain September 24 out of Camp Mack. Entry fee $40 per boat, plus $10 for biggest bass, with $25 going toward payout and $15 to the church. Third boat partner ages 15 and under free. First and second place payouts guaranteed. Youngsters and their families will enjoy stories, crafts, songs, and surprises at Toddler Boot Camp. This themed four-week story time is geared to children 1-5 years old to encourage them to transition from the baby stages to a big kid. Stories and songs such as "Bye Bye Binky," " No More Diapers," and "No More Monsters," will be shared to make transitioning for parent and child a fun experience.

Advanced Robotics with LEGO EV3-Gayton Baptist - Gayton Baptist Church
Using LEGOs New EV3 Space Challenge Set and Activity Pack, campers are introduced to robotics with a very current and real-world theme, traveling to and living on Mars! Campers will work as scientists and engineers as they progress through a set of lessons, challenges, and projects that fully integrate science, technology, engineering, and math concepts, while prompting creative problem solving, communication, and teamwork. Campers will learn the basics of gears to help them apply physical science and math principles to build effective robots. They will also progress through a series of missions in which they investigate, observe, calculate, and apply their knowledge to solve specific tasks. Our space engineers will conduct research as they explore, plan, and develop three fundamental challenges NASA engineers and scientists are working to solve: How to endure humans can survive in space; how humans can create energy in space; and how robots can help humans explore space. 678-294-9504

This sampler gives a taste of the ancient arts of pounding iron, melting bronze and shaping sheet copper. Work with your hands, get dirty, make and take cool stuff. Well cool off with some swimming and games. * This program does not include using the blacksmithing forge due to safety considerations. New this year is the Hartley Level 1 class. This replaces the 420 Level 1 program and offers a great one week learn to sail program for older students. Students will learn basic sailing lingo, how to rig and how to sail on this new slick boat.
