LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Week 7 Day Camp - Rose Lake Youth Camp
Our always popular Day Camp is a favorite for many children ages 4-13. This session runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost includes breakfast, lunch and a snack. This is a great introduction to camp life and activities and focuses on the all-time favorite camp activities of swimming, archery, hiking, songs, kayaking, gaga pit, bouldering wall, crafts, and games. Depending on the age and abilities of our youngest day campers, some activities may be adjusted or modified to be age appropriate. Day Camp has an optional Thursday overnight, allowing children to get a taste of resident camp. The Thursday Overnight includes dinner and an evening snack. Children will enjoy campfires and special events and games not offered during the normal Day Camp day. If you would like your child to participate, please indicate this option on the camp registration and there is no additional fee for the Thursday Overnight program. The minimum age for the overnight is 7 years of age. In addition, for an additional $20 families who need extended Day Camp care can sign children up for this option which runs 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Extended care includes breakfast. 231 768 4351

Become a paper engineer! Learn how to make simple and complex pop-up book structures, then explore your creative side as you tell your own pop-up story. Create a whole book or a set of pop up cards. Participants will learn several pop-up styles using flaps, folds, tabs and slides. 970.728.3886
Teen Adventure Camp - Sequoia Highlands
Teen Adventure Camp starts at 9 a.m. on June 27 at Sequoia Highlands, which is a large camp built around 1970. There is a large kitchen and dining room and a big recreation room with pool tables, pingpong and darts as well as other activities. The accommodations are in long dorms with army cot bunks, one dorm for girls, one for boys. The view of the valley is spectacular, and the charm of this camp is that it is rustic, has lots of room and is close to Kings Canyon National Park. We take trips on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to lakes, rivers, caves and mountains up in the parks, hiking & swimming & exploring the area. We will also learn about the ecology of the area and how climate change is affecting the Parks and the central valley. While at camp we will tie-dye our camp shirts, create our own videos, fish if the pond is full, and simply hang out and enjoy each others company. Campfires are planned for the evenings after dinner. A Vanguard Pram is an excellent teaching boat for young sailors and this class gives every child the opportunity to experience how to maneuver a sailboat. The prams never leave the safety of Frenchmans Creek, a perfect place for a young childs first experience with sailing.
