Youth Winter Camp - New Haven, MI
Haven Place will be doing a FREE Youth Winter Camp. Grades 6th thru 12th. This camp will be focusing on Community Service, Discipleship, We will be having youth grades 6 to 12 stay overnight for three nights. We will be doing community service hours on Friday and Saturday. We will be taking the youth to serve senior citizens in the surrounding area. The youth will be making gifts to bring to the elderly. The youth will also be disciples through a program through D-Now Studies called "The Pause" this discipleship course is four sessions and it will equip youth to learn how to seek God in a never ending multitasking environment. They will each receive a student book and t-shirt. We will be having a New Years Eve party for them. Live band and student mentors will be with them during the camp. Weather permitting we will be shoveling snow and going to sledding hills to pass out free hot cocoa and the gospel message. Possibly do "laundry Love" where we go into a local laundry mat and pay for everyones laundry to be done and more!! Kid Creations & Bay Area Pilates are teaming up for another 3-hour Movement & Art Camp. Kids will have FUN learning the benefits of pilates in a choreographed-for-kids pilates class for one hour and then will be escorted down the sidewalk to Kid Creations for two hours of arts and crafts. There once was a king who had 12 dancing princess daughters. Each night he would lock their door so they could not escape, but every morning, the twelve would have the soles of their slippers worn out from dancing. hmmmmmm.... Riverwalkers - Bluff Lake Nature Center
River Walkers will explore the waterfalls, creek beds, and shaded pools of the Sand Creek to investigate how all of life needs and uses water. Campers will discover how the birds, mammals, bugs, and crawfish of Bluff Lake interact with its water sources through hands-on activities, animal encounters, and expert presentations. Campers will have the chance to measure, draw, observe, and play with water as they perform water quality testing, sail boats and build their own dams. Prepare to get wet, meet some aquatic creatures, and have a blast! All campers will learn from science experts, play learning games, make projects, meet new friends, cool off in Sand Creek and have supervised exploration time.
