Firefighter Youth Camp - Limerick, PA
Limerick Fire Company's Third Annual YOUTH FIREFIGHTER CAMP June 20-24, 2016; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ages 6-13 years of age Registration Fee: $35; deadline to register: May 30, 2016 Welcome to Limerick Fire Company’s Youth Firefighter Camp. Due to the success of our camp, the deadline to register cannot be extended and attendance is limited to 60 campers. All registered cadets will receive one LFC Fireman’s tee shirt and LFC baseball cap to wear as their ‘daily uniform’. Hat and designated ‘uniform shirt’ must be worn every day because it identifies which group the cadet is assigned to for the week. If you are interested in purchasing extra camp shirts, they must be ordered at the time of registration-$10 per shirt. Why try this Camp? You will: ►Learn fire safety you thought you knew & then apply what you’ve learned ►Learn about the fire house, trucks (apparatus), and personnel ►Hands-on with various equipment ►Ladders-learn the how-to’s ►Hoses-proper techniques to connect to the hydrant, flow water, roll up, etc. ►Extinguishers-the ABC’s ►Rescue tools during simulated live demonstrations ►Fire gear-bunker pants, jacket, helmet, safety gloves & glasses all provided ►Watch & participate in several live demonstrations with the firefighters ►And so much more…. Prerequisite: Opti LTS Step 1 or Second Taste of Optis This two week class is based on the final two weeks of the Opti Learn to Sail process. Designed to be a refresher course for kids who have taken Opti learn to Sail but who are not yet ready for Green fleet. This culminates in a completion ceremony on the Tuesday overnight, which all girls are encouraged to attend. The AITS are still considered campers and spend their time preparing for their future roles as program Aides the following year (entering 8th grade). It is necessary that girls registering as AITS are able to attend camp the entire two weeks of the program. The administrative team is continually striving to provide all of our campers an excellent camp experience. Well-trained Aides are critical to this goal! Please note, girls must attend camp all days to complete the AIT program. Girls who were AITs last year but did not attend all days of camp must register as an AIT again this year. **PLEASE NOTE – The AIT unit will be filled to a maximum enrollment of 60 based on the criteria of the Admission Policy.
