SummerART Camp Full Day Studio Art Program 9:30am to 5pm Studio Art with Lego Animation Session V: August 22 to August 26 (One week only) Studio Art Camp Days of Summer Campers will explore themes of summertime fun. We will discuss campers favorite things about summer, from swimming, camping, and hiking, to fun family vacations. Campers artwork will be inspired by these topics, conversations, and themes, with an emphasis on learning about painting, drawing, and sculpting techniques, to name a few. Landscapes, seascapes, and scenes from our own neighborhood will be explored while enjoying the last days of summer! [UCLA UniCamp is a non-profit organization that sends youth from all over Los Angeles up for a week of camp to get away from everyday life for a bit and create the environments they want for themselves, "singing songs, playing games, and changing lives."] I know what you're thinking. "You graduated. What are you still doing here?" This is a question I had asked myself at one point before deciding to apply for camp this time around. This time…I want to do it right. I want to do it for the campers. Don’t get me wrong, my first year of camp back in 2013 was a blast. But I joined because I had a good time with the other volunteers and it was nice idea to be “doing good.” But youth aren’t just customers you can provide service for and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Bio: Frank Ayata has been with YSCP since 2007 as business manager. He loves playing and teaching soccer. He has been playing soccer since his childhood. This year marks his fourth year with Extended Day Soccer Club. He is involved with many extracurricular activities at the YSCP such as Skiing Club, and International trips to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Turkey. He is excited to inspire the students to explore the beauty of playing soccer for the upcoming year. 8142379727.0

This camp will emphasize basic skills, playing as a team, and sportsmanship. Instruction will focus on the fundamentals of soccer in a setting of encouragement and confidence building. Drills to improve skills will be added and games will focus on team play and scrimmages will be held to demonstrate tactical understanding. All participants need a soccer ball, shin guards, soccer shoes, a water bottle, a snack and sunscreen.
