DebateAble is an after-school debate club program for 4th and 5th graders - no debate experience necessary! DebateAble operates as a separate debate club at each school, providing children with the opportunity to learn critical thinking skills, empathy, analysis, and public speaking in a fun and positive environment. Using teamwork, games, research materials and practice debates, students are taught to formulate, support and present arguments -- as well as listen, understand and respong to the arguments of others. 206-910-7135
Physical Programming w/ Processing (AM) - The Digital Arts Experience
Come for 1 or 2 weeks! All students will receive their own DAE 8GB flash drive to store their work on and take home. Previous knowledge of the basics of computer science or a programming language are recommended. This course will explore taking programming off of the computer screen. An Arduino Microcontroller will be used together with Processing code to create interactive programs. This camp will focus on teaching and fine tuning passing and defensive skills. This includes liberos as well as any player who plays defense or who is in serve receive. Space limited to 48 campers.
