Put me in coach...Im ready to play! This camp will focus on baseball fundamentals and techniques from hitting, fielding and throwing to pitching, base running and more. Campers will participate in daily drills, scrimmages, stations and contests to develop big league skills. Camp will be conducted rain or shine. Parents will be provided with information on how to handle rain days on the first day of camp. Supplies: Campers should bring their own bat and glove, and a packed lunch with a beverage and plenty of water each day. All campers should arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied, as well as with additional sunscreen, as needed. We recommend campers use sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30. What I like about this camp is my kids can choose between a day camp (for ages 5-12), an overnight camp (for ages 9-13) or a specialty camp (ages 11-17). Musical Improv - Pop Songs Level 2 - Eric Schackne - iO West
Youre making up songs, and they sound pretty great. Everybody thinks so. Yet, youre curious how to make future songs sound pretty greater. This workshop moves past the rigid structure that got your improv songwriting on its feet, and smoothes out the edges. Week one takes you back through song structure and function in finer detail, adding some new ways to build on simplicity. The second week works on two pairs of skills – beginnings/endings & leading/following. Week three delves into the wild world of fancy tricks and slick pop moves to prep your tool belt for heaps of song types. The only requirements are completion of Pop Songs Level 1 and a vested interest in ear-friendly musical makes ups. Taught by iOWest Musical Director Eric Schackne (323) 962-7560

Using slabs and colorful decoration make a Fairy Door to attract wee beings to the Art Center! The Fairy Doors will be installed on the Adrian Center for the Arts campus and premiered at our Spring Fling on May 1, 1-5pm. Wildheart Sacred Artists know their nature both within and without. Newborns arrive into this world with a purity and clarity so intense that it is near impossible not to fall into some divine joy when looking into their eyes. As they grow older, this clarity begins to fade as they develop a healthy sense of who they are and begin to define the world they are perceiving. At Wildheart, there is nothing more important to us than returning the power and clarity to childrens eyes. Nature is the perfect setting for inviting kids to return to their inner truths. In this centering and empowering week of camp we will be exploring mindfulness, meditation, dance, sacred art, earth skills, music, compassion, and Earth-based ceremonies. Children will come away with practice choosing kindness over anger, peace over anxiety, and love over fear. They will also come away with a unique altar cloth dyed using local plants and leaf prints. Second year students also receive a surprise item for their altar that represents a positive quality they have offered to the camp.
