We Will Be Using A Combo Of ORANGE/GREEN DOT BALLS Depending On The Skill Level Of The Group... The ORANGE BALL allows young players to play on a 60 court with the same rules as those used on a regulation court. Playing the real game will promote the development of fundamentals required in game situations. For 7+ year olds that have gained skills from RED BALL play. The ratio of length to width is basically the same as a full sized court is to an adult. As the court and equipment dimensions are scaled down, young players are able to develop an all-court game style... ORANGE BALL tennis uses low-compression balls that facilitate this tactical development. The balls are easier to control and dont bounce as lively as a YELLOW BALL. On these courts players use 23-25 inch rackets (depending on player size) which gives better racquet and ball control. The modified equipment also assists with development of good mechanics. Creative Design & Build - The Swain School
In this session in the Makerspace we will combine two great activities - both provide the camper to express their creativity with tile and glass. Using broken tile pieces, the children will create and build a small mosaic tile table. Then with stained glass they will have a choice to make items such as boxes or sun catchers. REGULAR CAMP This years session themes and cultures of focus include: Melanesias Matchless Majesty, Argentinas Amazing Adventures, Zimbabwes Zesty Zambezi, and Cubas Captivating Coast. Campers will embark on a cultural journey that includes the exploration of nature, geography, music, history, foreign languages, art, science, math, exercise, sports, and literature. We are focused on helping campers and their parents to become aware of a unique higher education institution called Florida College. Florida College centers its education around God and His Word, Alabama Camp centers its summer camp activities in the same way. We are not a church camp, but rather a group of Florida College alumni and friends who are eager to provide an environment of summer fun, while remembering who we are as Gods creation. Because of this, we have certain expectations of both our staff and our campers. Please be sure to read these expectations and explain them to your camper if needed. Grades K – 8 Mon-Fri 4-6pm (students will be divided up into groups for age appropriate instruction and activities) Throughout each excitement-filled 8 week session, students will enjoy a variety of hands-on FUN activities that are guaranteed to blow their minds! From animal interactions, to games, hikes, some field trips, experiments and crafts.
