Personal Finance 101 Workshop June 27-July 1 - Summit School
Personal Finance 101 - Camp/Workshop Leader: Gardner Barrier Dates: June 27 - July 1 Rising grades: 6 - 9 In this camp your child will work through fun and engaging conversations and games that will start their journey into financial literacy. We will play games that introduce financial topics, we will explore spreadsheet functionality as we design and evaluate plans, and we will learn some basic lessons about how money works. This "camp" will feel at times like a summer seminar, at times like game play, and at times like group analysis. We will be thinking hard, having meaningful conversations, and having a good time. Participants will finish up the week feeling like blinders have been taken off. They will see the world differently. And theyll have fun, too! All students need to bring is a curiosity about how money works, a willingness to think about things differently, and a desire to learn as much as possible. We will not be leaving campus. Some other "experts" will be coming to us. You can reach me at I have the wonderful opportunity to otherwise serve on our staff as the Assistant Head of School & Director of Upper School. Spanish Age 3-6 Friday with sandor - First Free Church
Do you know? ● There are 400 million Spanish speakers in the world. ● Foreign language learning increases critical thinking skills, creativity, and flexibility of mind in young children. ● The young developing brain is perfectly suited for learning a second language. They learn faster and better. Take advantage of this window of opportunity and give your child a head start by providing them the opportunity to learn Mandarin Chinese/Spanish. These classes are taught by native Spanish speaker, Señor Sandor who is also teaching Spanish at several neighborhood private schools. Classes are hands on and interactive. Children will have fun learning Spanish through songs, arts and crafts, games and dances. 773.609.5492
Farm to Table (ages 6-12) - Connolly Ranch
Brings your young epicureans enthusiasm for all things cooking back to the source of the ingredients: land, soil, seeds, animals, plants and more. Campers will explore how to grow and cook a farm-fresh meal from the ground up using ingredients that are in season and locally grown in the Napa Valley. After getting their hands dirty learning how animals, soil, water and the sun work together to produce food for our tables, kids will wash up and commence cooking. Nothing tastes better than a meal that is freshly harvested out of the ground. Each week, a local chef will visit to share knowledge about farm-to-table cooking. Parents are invited to join their campers on Friday afternoons to sample what their kids have learned that week. 707-224-1894
Nature Photography Camp - Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Alabama
