This course is designed for those students who desire to further develop their English speaking ,reading, and writing skills. For students at all levels-beginning/ intermediate/ advanced, we will concentrate on reading & comprehending literature, practicing phonics principles, and perfecting writing skills. Each day will be spent reading book in small and large groups, writing summaries, fiction and non-fiction stories, and book reports. We will greatly expand our vocabulary, play word games, and focus on grammar, pronunciation, and fluency in a challenging yet relaxed and fun environment. Check In & Late Registration: 8:00-9:00 AM at Roadrunner Field. Camp Hours will be from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. We will provide lunch around 12:30 PM. Purpose: Provide a camp experience much like a UTSA Baseball practice day. From the stretching routine, to a training session with baseball specific training techniques, to lessons on play catch routine, long toss, infield / outfield play, pitching / catching drill work, bunting and baserunning lectures and drills. We will deliver as much information and drill work in a 1 day session as time will allow. Cost will include: T-Shirt, Lunch and Camp Tuition. Field Trips will leave at different times. Drop-off at the Jefferson County Community Center will be at 9:00 a.m. for the trips on Monday thru Thursday. Friday?s trip to Hershey Park will leave from the JCCC at 7am and will return at 6:30pm. Some trips may not leave until later or may leave as early as 9:15 a.m. During wait time for bus departure and drop off, games and other activities will be provided for the children until they are boarded. Pick-up for campers will be at 4:00 p.m. All trips are transported by Jefferson County School Buses. Campers will be required to bring special items each day. Campers must bring a packed lunch to camp each day, and wear sneakers, along with a snack and plenty of water. Other examples include: swimwear, extra cash for concessions/souvenirs, sunscreen, etc. Parents/Guardians who would like to volunteer to assist with the camp must pay their own fees for entry for each field trip. Parents/Guardians will need to submit a volunteer background check by July 10, 2013 in order to attend any trip. Cost includes tickets and admission for all trips daily.
