Exploring Precious Metal Clay with Christopher Beaver - Ah Haa School for the Arts
Times vary: Friday 6-8pm, Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. This class will explore the very basics of metal clay with the incredibly humorous and tallented Christopher Beaver. No previous experience or skills necessary. Have you ever wanted to work with metal but have been scared off by the metal smithing process? Here is your chance to explore the world of precious metal clay – a fantastic clay material that is permeated with microscopic elements of pure metals. The clay is formed and placed in a kiln and – viola! – you pull out a pure piece of solid silver. Required for this this class is a great sense of humor, a willingness to learn, the ability to laugh at your own mistakes and letting your teacher drop the "f bomb" on occasion (it happens). Soccer Shots II (K-2nd Grade) - Germantown Friends School
Soccer Shots Philadelphia is coming to GFS this spring! Soccer Shots is the premier childrens soccer experience for children from preschool to second grade. Through quality, high-energy soccer programming with principled instruction from highly-trained coaches, Soccer Shots emphasizes soccer skills and character development with fun, age-appropriate play. Soccer Shots instructors use each session to teach children important character and social concepts, such as teamwork, confidence and respect. Moreover, their weekly, semester-long approach will take all children from the most basic understanding of soccer through the 10 fundamental skills all soccer players need to know. Finally, Soccer Shots teaches players positive life skills designed to leave a lasting impact on every child who participates. Volleyball Skills Camp (8-12 yrs.) - Veterans Memorial Arena
The West Fargo Park District is offering a summer youth volleyball camp for boys and girls ages 8-12. Participants will be taught fundamental skills such as serving, hitting, passing, blocking and setting. Participants need to wear athletic shoes and appropriate clothing. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Instructors will be local college volleyball players. It is recommended that participants bring water bottles with them each day. Pre-K (birthdays between 9/1/11 and 8/31/12) - JCC ECP
Educators provide a rich learning environment for the children in the Pre-K program including many sensory experiences, hands-on activities, language immersion opportunities, and Kindergarten readiness integration. Children construct their own learning and knowledge from the endless opportunities and the guidance provided by the educators. This special learning environment is a product of our philosophy of the image of each child as competent, capable, and curious. Educators also provide children with integrated opportunities to practice learned Jewish ethics and values each day through lessons on the Jewish holidays, books, games, rituals, and customs. Pre-K educators also meet each year with Austin Independent School District (AISD) Kindergarten educators and Austin Jewish Academy (AJA) Kindergarten educators to discuss student expectations and recent educational developments. Schedules for each Pre-K class include both large and small group times as well as times for individual choice in centers and on the playground. Children learn to follow directions and transition between activities. Rookie Basketball Skills - The Cambridge School
The rookie program offers repetition and teaches FUN-damental instruction for each player to allow the player to build a solid foundation. Lower baskets are used to reinforce proper shooting techniques and for players to build confidence in themselves.
