Young engineers will level up their creative knowledge with our custom educational version of Minecraft. Well show them how to design and build with redstone, the information and electricity conducting material in Minecraft that can be used to teach students fundamental concepts of electrical and mechanical engineering, engineering design theory, and logic skills. Well use redstone circuitry to complete various projects that might involve moving devices, functional computing machines, or even audio visual sequences based on basic programing logic, all while the students are in a virtual world of their making. Minecraft becomes a powerful learning tool as we help guide our young makers into new discoveries about engineering, circuitry, computing, and design. Along the way these makers will also build skills in collaboration, communication, and digital citizenship. With MakerStates help, Minecraft screen-time can be turned into STEM-mastery time. A fun class for the summer to learn and catch up on all your social skills. Campers will learn all about being the perfect host from party planning and set up to how to write thank you notes. They will make their own beginner stationary kits, then make their way to the dining table and fine tune those skills from the kitchen table to fine dining. There will be a class on visual poise, introductions, telephone manners and meeting new friends. A grooming class with closet organization, nail grooming or tie tying. Plus lots more. Algebra Bridge Class - TRINITY ACADEMY
This class is for the student who has completed Algebra I and wants to reinforce those skills before entering Geometry or Algebra II. There will be particular emphasis on the second semester Algebra I concepts that typically cause students difficulty. Items covered will include the following: solving and rearranging equations, slope, writing equations of lines, solving systems of equations, simplifying exponents, multiplying binomials (FOIL) reducing radical expressions, and factoring. Students are expected to take notes, work on in-class assignments, and should be prepared to complete some assignments at home.
