Returning to Teen Camp - undefined, CA
In the summer of 2014, I did something I never really thought I was called to do: work with TEENS. Being 21 at the time, I still considered myself one. Me? Being paired up with a 14-year old girl? Confronting normal teen issues paired with the difficulty that comes hand in hand while being in the foster system? Definitely a challenge. Not just zip-ling fun and games. (Also, I came home with crutches that year. FROM TRIPPING IN THE CAFETERIA. Hangry?) However, seeing how camp is something these kids/teens look forward to every year and how a weekend in the woods reminds them they are loved and adored is invaluable. Being with older and wiser counselors also inspired me because seeing the way they love unconditionally inspires me to not be selfish with my time and personal ambitions. These kids, this camp. It means something. A safe place with the ability to change lives long term. I'm proud to say that I'm returning to Teen Camp this year and it would be amazing to share the stories from last time with you (when I get a blog post up.) The first two weeks of the CCYC Summer Camp will begin on June 20,2016 and end on July 1, 2016. This year there will be two separate camps with the second two week camp starting on July 18 and conclude on July 29 2016. Applications for the first session must be returned by June 15 to be accepted into the first session. Ages this year will range fron 7 to 12 yars of age. Teen North African Music, Dance and Culture Camp - Nampa, ID
Travel to Northern Africa and the Middle-East, without the motion sickness or expensive flight. Learn about the music, dance and culture of the area of the world where Africa meets the Orient. It's a whole new world of music and dance! If you only have a Western Music Education, you are missing out on over three fourths of the world's music! Students will attend from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, August 4th and 6th. Besides learning dance moves, students will make percussive instruments and learn to play several N. African Rhythms. Students will learn about the music and culture of this area of the world through music, dance, video, food and art. On Saturday, August 8th, students will have the opportunity to join 1 World Dance in a performance!

Jessamine (FEMALE) - 7/11 Week #1 - Blue Grass Christian Camp
FOR CAMPERS WITH JESSAMINE CHRISTIAN CHURCH GROUP ONLY. Any misplaced registrants will be removed from this session. Younger campers need a lot of reassurance and unconditional love, and that is exactly what they get at 7/11 Camp. For many kids, 7/11 Camp will be their first experience away from home. So, every action-packed 7/11 day hums with words of love and encouragement sung by a staff hand-picked for their Christ-like patience and sensitivity. Counselors coach and praise the kids while they learn and explore through games, pool activities, and much more. Each activity leads to greater confidence and character building. Counselor training builds moral and spiritual application into each and every activity session. The 7/11 leadership staff creatively share the importance of a life lived for Christ through themed events at night, 7/11 worship, nightly devotionals, and one-on-one time getting to know your child. At the beginning of the week well try different activities - read some jokes, sing, act out skits and talk about our talents. Halfway through the week, well begin to craft and rehearse our show. B.O.A.T.C.A.M.P. aboard the Capt. George - Plum Island Point
Our week long programs aboard the Capt. George seek to inspire nature connection through a maritime lens. Well explore the coastal ecology of Ipswich Bay and the Gulf of Maine each day, and carefully plan our days according to observed weather, tide and sea conditions. Above all else, we focus on keeping kids safe, warm (or cool!), and happy. We always depart the dock with a plan, and always change the plan as the day unfolds, as Mother Ocean and Mother Nature always leads. When she offers up something unexpected--a pod of dolphins frolicking across our path, feeding gannets, hungry bluefish and mackerel--we are very willing to change plans to make for the best experience possible. Felted Bags and Purses - Artists Exchange
This 4 week workshop will focus on making bags and purses using a resist method of wet felting. For many, felt is a crafting material sold in squares made out of some mish-mosh of synthetic fibers. Felting is actually extremely natural and is one of the most ancient art forms in mankinds history. It is still a widely used method which can create anything from clothing to toys and even houses. In this class, students will learn the basic process of wet felting which creates wool fabric by layering raw wool fibers, adding warm soapy water and a little elbow grease. This is an inter-generational class. The felting process is simple but can be very versatile which makes it a great opportunity for parents and children to work together side by side.
