The NDP tennis camp will introduce the sport to newcomers, and provide further instruction to those who are experienced and want to compete at the high school level. The main goal of this camp is to help players improve their skills while learning tennis etiquette and good sportsmanship. The drills and exercises taught by current NDP coaches and players are both fun and useful for tennis and other sports. What to wear/bring: Athletic attire, tennis shoes and socks, tennis racquet, towel and water bottle. (Rain day June 17). Please note our new cancellation policy. Day Camp Session II - St. Johns Country Day School
Excitement awaits the day campers, ages 4 - 13, as they report to their air-conditioned cabins, located on the campus of St. Johns. Grouped by age and supervised by trained, full-time counselors, the campers safety and enjoyment are the primary concerns of each staff member. We also offer a specialized self-contained summer camp program for four year olds. Campers will be under the supervision of our certified Lower School teachers. Activities include arts and crafts, music and movement, outdoor fun, and story time. Children that wish to participate in our four-year-old program must turn four years of age before June 10, and be potty trained. Children need to bring lunch and a change of clothes. Campers enjoy the use of St. Johns 26-acre campus, including its outdoor athletic fields and play equipment, shower and locker facilities, fine arts resources, 25-yard swimming pool, computer labs, and air-conditioned gymnasiums. All campers through grade 4 have swim lessons. Standard guidelines are used to establish swimming levels, and parents receive a report at the end of each two-week session. Join in the fun! Our younger campers enjoy busy days filled with games, science activities, Spanish classes, arts and crafts, organized sports, drama, story time, and field trips—all arranged around a weekly theme. Theres also daily swim instruction for our five- to seven-year-old campers given by Red Cross certified lifeguards. Each evening, competitive matches will be played, giving coaches the opportunity to observe the players understanding of the topics covered that day. Our staff will be comprised of only the top college, ODP and club coaches available. This camp is open to any and all boys and girls ages 12-18. **Please note that graduating high school seniors are now allowed to participate in summer camps where collegiate coaches are on staff.
