Act Out Loud! - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
Students will experience the process of creating a play from a simple idea to the performance on stage. They will get to pitch their ideas, help form and shape the storyline, write dialogue, create characters and perform for an audience. This unique class is ideal for any student interested in all the aspects of theatre. INSTRUCTOR JOHN WALDRON received his BFA in theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University. As an actor, director, and instructor, he has been working in the region for over 20 years. He has directed shows at Aldersgate and MVCCT. John can be seen in the motion picture Talk To Me starring Don Cheadle and was featured on Investigative Discovery show Who The Bleep!. Camp Mark Seven offers a place where hearing children of Deaf parents could come together to learn about, and better understand the two worlds that they simultaneously live in, and where they could explore, identify, and strengthen their unique C/KODA identities and develop individually as leaders. All of this would occur, ideally, in a recreational camping environment that would foster a lot of interaction and activities for each child and youth. Program activities: Swimming and tubing. Half Day Wk4 - Residents - Epping Forest Clubhouse
This is for Residents or direct relatives of Epping Community members. Our morning program lasts from 9am to 12pm, and includes programs for Jellyfish (ages 4-5), Rockfish (ages 6-8) and Blue Crabs (ages 9-12). The morning session typically consists of three 45-60 minute activities that will be exciting and engaging for your children. During each of these time slots we endeavor to provide options for your child, enabling them to do what they like most and empowering them to have the most fun with their day. Activities throughout the day are structured around three main themes including: OUTDOORS (e.g., nature hikes, sailing, water sports, swim skills, kayaking, survival skills), ARTS (e.g., crafts, indian art, tie dyes) and GAMES (e.g., tennis, basketball, dodgeball, beach challenges). Learn to Ride a Bike - Bear Creek Park
This is one of the most exciting camps because kids experience the joy of pedaling independently for the first time! This half day camp is perfect for the younger child who is still on training wheels or going from push bike to pedal bike. Our goal is to get them riding their own bike on two wheels by the end of the week using specific techniques, patience, and fun. You can come with training wheels on their bike if that is what they are used to riding. Or, if they are going from a push bike to a pedal bike, just make sure they have a bike that fits - no training wheels need to be added. We will work toward removing all training wheels as the week progresses. Please bring a helmet, 2 snacks, a water bottle, rain gear and closed toe shoes.
