LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Lego® StoryStarter II 2:30 - Mt. Bethel Elementary
Story telling was never this much fun! Utilizing the LEGO® StoryStarter set we will introduce students to the basic structures of a well-composed story (making this class a great language arts tool). At the same time we will also introduce them to the world of technology as we show them how to animate their stories in their very own graphic storybook. They will build their LEGO® story scenes and (using photo capture and editing tools) bring the story to life in print. We will create multiple storybooks in this class and each student will receive a DVD containing printable versions of all their creations to take home. In StoryStarter II we will have the same great fun but with all new story types and plots! We will delve further in the story telling process by emphasizing character development and 5 step story telling. You do NOT have to take the first class in order to take II. 770-826-0449

Showtunes: Sing and Dance (August 15) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
One of the most difficult aspects of musical theatre is being able to sing and dance at the same time. This camp will help to develop this ability. Working hard to prepare a selection of show tunes for a live performance will give the campers quality experience and better prepare them to participate in musicals at school and in the community. Campers will perform in large and small groups while also allowing each child to take the spotlight with a singing or dance solo within the group numbers. This is an opportunity for your child to build a talent that many young performers struggle with. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home. He is happy to have been given the position of Summer Camp Director this year and hopes to make a positive educational... 7036835778 x2
