Get a taste of what Camp Jonah has to offer its campers in these 10k, 5k, and kid’s 1 mile adventure runs; with all proceeds going directly to camp scholarships to help get kids to camp! If you like your races with a little more "fun" than "run" Jonah’s 5k obstacle run is the race for you. Designed with the collaborative workshop model in mind, campers will enjoy an in-depth exploration of two essential tech tools: Scratch programming and Lego stop animation. Using MITs Scratch programming language, fundamental concepts will be taught so campers can start creating stories, games and animations and even try applying some of these skills to games like Minecraft. Well then investigate tricks of the trade for creating Lego stop animation movies so campers can make their very own flicks. The week ends with a culminating workshop day for students to tweak and expand existing projects. No previous experience necessary; just come with curiosity and readiness to have fun! Our campers will discover what type of enrichment is best for each animal, create it and then watch the animal ambassador enjoy it! (if time allows, you can make your own take-home enrichment for the animals in your own backyard). Please bring a refillable drink container and a sack lunch. Snacks will be provided.
