LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Camp Chemistry Morning - Newtons Attic
Camp Chemistry can be taken as a full day class or half-day, either morning or afternoon. To register for the full day, please register for both half-days. Morning and afternoon experiments will not be repeated, so students will have new material in each session. Glowing water, blue and red flames, and mountains of oozing foam are everyday occurrences in Camp Chemistry at Newtons Attic. This camp will expose students to the fun and sometimes bizarre world of chemistry, chemical reactions and exciting things that can be made with the right mixture of knowledge, chemicals and materials. In addition to playing with (safe) chemicals, students will work in the shop to fabricate various items, such as test tube holders and similar gadgets that will aid in their exploration of the world of chemistry. Everyone gets to keep everything they make or do at Newtons Attic so that the fun and learning can continue long after camp is over. So, lets all put on our safety glasses, lab aprons and rubber gloves and see what strange potions we can concoct. 859-368-7334

Camp CCYT is BACK! Caryl Crane Youth Theatre is pleased to announce GODSPELL as its 2016 summer camp offering! Explore all aspects of the theatre with other aspiring actors who love the stage as much as you do! Camp CCYT is the arts camp that is more than a traditional summer camp. Designed for students ages 10-18, the program is a comprehensive, one-week intensive, in which students get a chance to hone their skills in a fast-paced, creative environment. Camp CCYT meets July 18-23, 2015, 9am – 3 pm in the McBride Auditorium on BGSU Firelands College Campus. One performance of Godspell is scheduled for Saturday, July 23 at 10 am. Each student will not only STAR onstage in the production, but also will also contribute to the direction, choreography, set, lighting and costume design of the production. Students will be assigned a mentor from the Caryl Crane Youth Theatre 2016 Staff and will work as assistants on a specific “behind-the-scenes” area of their interest. Camp CCYT is designed to instill in aspiring thespians a deeper understanding about producing and participating in a first-class musical with working professionals. Whitetail Resort's Kid's Adventure Camps - Mercersburg, PA
This day camp for children ages 7-12 offers an opportunity to experience many outdoor activities throughout the day. Campers arrive each morning ready to get outside and expand their horizons. They start the day with a game of kickball or a snack of fruit before heading to their first session. Each camper is placed with a group of peers to experience these adventure based programs. From navigating the resort with a compass to paddling kayaks on the reservoir, they are certain to work up an appetite. A healthy lunch is provided at our Tubing Lodge for their mid-day break before resuming activities in the afternoon. After lunch, it’s back to the woods for an archery lesson or to build wilderness huts. Arcade Game Design - The Digital Arts Experience
Code your own arcade game and design your own controller that works with it! The first half of this class will involve students coding their own old school arcade style game from scratch. Think something like Spade Invaders, Galaga, Pong and more! Then, well have the students work with Arduino UNOs & breadboards and use physical programming to wire their own controller to work with the game. Finally, students will design their very own case for their controller that we will print out using our 3D Printers! Come both physical and digital programming for this interactive class where students will be able to show off their games and controllers to friends and family! **Please note**: We have Arduino UNOs & breadboards for the students to use as their controllers for the duration of the class but they will need to be returned at the end. After the first few weeks of class, however, we will offer the option to order an Arduino Starter Kit ($99) for the students so that they will be able to work on their own units and take home with them. Volleyball: Middle School Team Skills - Main Campus
The Harding Team Skills Volleyball Camp for 6th to 8th graders builds on the skills acquired during the June Individual Skills Camp (serving, passing, setting, attacking). Fast-paced team drills and games focused on enhancing court awareness, better understanding of game flow, anticipation, readiness, transitioning between offense and defense. Middle School girls continue developing team synergy, as well as achieving an advanced level of proficiency, utilizing three hitters, serving aggressively to get more aces, and converting serve-receive into a kill. Camp serves as a good jump-start in preparing for the Harding volleyball season (August-September). Daily team recognition. Camp ends with a tournament, which is always a blast.
