An entire week devoted to the questions who, what, where, when and why. This is a camp all about exploring our very own science projects. Campers will try things like blowing up a balloon with pop rocks, making a lava lamp and dying flowers. Our laboratory will be over flowing with hypotheses, chemistry, laws of gravity and properties of matter. Lets learn, have fun, get messy and a little mad all while being a scientist!! Well you are all invited to come on the annual Youth Winter Retreat What if Jesus meant something very different by the concepts of heaven, hell and salvation from how we have been taught and understand them? Pastor Larry DeVuyst will lead us to tackle these questions and more as we work through our retreat study from Rob Bell’s book, Love Wins, for Teens. As always there will be fun games, good food, and time with friends. Complete the retreat form found on WPC website youth page and turn it in to my mailbox with a check for $50 by 1/8. We need a count for food, games and supplies so please reserve your spot soon. Pick up the easy to read book from Pastor DeVuyst to read ahead. Don’t let reading the book keep you from attending the retreat. Pastor Larry is looking for appropriate movies where love overcomes adversity. If you have a recommendations please let us know. Participants will improve on basic skills and knowledge of the game. The concepts of cooperation and teamwork, along with a chance to have fun, will be the main goals of the week. Participants need their own stick, mouth guard, shin guards and goggle s. Please pack a peanut free bag lunch water bottle and swim gear daily. Group cools off at Reynolds Pool at the end of the camp day. Radical Reptiles & Animals with John Taibe (AGES 5-10) Join John Taibe from Radical Reptiles and Friends as he introduces the children to a unique menagerie of live animals including snakes, frogs, turtles, tortoises, lizards, bugs and other creepy crawlies. As the children explore the animal kingdom, they will have a unique, hands-on experience enhanced by art, games and various projects related to these creatures. Kids will be up and about moving too! Educators also provide children with integrated opportunities to practice learned Jewish ethics and values each day through lessons on the Jewish holidays, books, games, rituals, and customs.
