Have fun reading a required summer reading book in a group setting. With the use of a variety of reading strategies, the course covers the reading of Maniac Magee. Students are asked to purchase the novel prior to the first class. All students should read the first two chapters of the book they are assigned before June 20th. Additional reading at home will be required. DETAILS StoryStars is designed to help children take an interest in books and literature at an early age. With our enjoyable and fun themes each week, children see how exciting reading can be! Each week will focus on age-appropriate literary skills while incorporating art, science, math and cooperative learning into the lessons. We will add to our Word Wall each week and children can continue to practice these skills at home with the provided materials. Every child can learn to love stories, and our theme, as always, is Having Fun…One Book at a Time! March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 31st 9:30am – 12:00pm Ages: 3-5 March 3rd Frances doesnt like bedtime! Musical Masters Camp - Pensacola Little Theatre
Bring Broadway to life through learning the fundamentals of musical theatre auditions and performance. Students will explore in depth musical theatre history as well as the elements of singing, dancing and musical theatre style acting. A musical showcase starring the students will be presented on the last day of class. There will be NO camp on the Monday, the 4th of July. Camp will resume the next day. Art 8 - Cardboard Creationary - Artists Exchange
What do you get when you mix art, cardboard and creativity? Recycling at its finest. You can make just about anything with cardboard from paintings to trees. Imagine the possibilities this week when we work with nothing but cardboard. What happens when you put it in clay? Or when you mix it in the blender to make paper? If you could make anything out of cardboard what would you make? Exploring clay, drawing, painting, 3D construction and more, participants will complete an assortment of individual and group projects in each weeks theme, culminating in a showcase at the end of each camp, followed by the unveiling of an installation at our 9th annual Fall Out of Summer Arts Festival in September. * Artists Exchange will be open Monday the 8th on Victory Day. 401-490-9475
