Casper Recreation Center was a life saver for my 10 year old daughter. Since my husband and I both have busy careers, we needed something fun for her to do during school breaks. The 9th annual preacher and men's training classes will be held at the Little Egypt Youth Camp near Dahlgren, Illinois June 20-24, 2016. (For more information, visit . All students must register. Due to the generous donations of several individuals, there will be no fees this year. Meals and lodging will be provided beginning Sunday evening through Friday at noon. Angel Foundation’s Facing Cancer Together Teen Mentor program, provides a leadership opportunity for teens (13-18) to apply, be assessed and trained to be leaders within Facing Cancer Together programs, specifically for Camp Angel. Teen Mentors will be introduced to the field of human services, as well as provide experiences in groups with children and their families who have been struck by cancer. If teens have never been a camper, teens will be asked to be a camper in June camp in order to be an August Teen Mentor. To be a Teen Mentor you need to go through the application and selection process. Join us for the Effingham Winter Camp! Follow the link above to register or see your youth leader. Cost is $15 each and can be given to your youth leader. That will cover meals, snacks, and activities. Please bring a sleeping bag, pillow, warm clothes, and one roll of duck tape. We will be creating a cardboard city. Any needed medication can be given to the "camp nurse" who will hold and adminster. Parents, please send written directions. We will be collecting NEW socks for people in need. For every pair of new socks, your name will be entered into a draw for a $100 gift card to the Tanger Outlet mall! Start collecting socks for women, men, or children! Keelboat Adventures is a perfect fit for those kids who want to learn to sail on bigger boats. Our 23 foot Sonar will take these students all over Fishers Island Sound. A NESS instructor will be onboard while students learn how to work as a team to get this boat cruising.
