LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Vocal at JazzFest Jazz Camp-Commuter - Augustana University
This year, a new vocal component has been added to the camp! Vocalists will learn to sing with an ensemble, combo and develop jazz singing skills. Special lessons will be available such as style, interpretation, vocal technique, introduction to music theory, scat singing and more. Plus, top vocalists will be featured with the jazz combos at JazzFest! Space is limited for vocalists! Vocal applicants will have to audition before final acceptance Audition Criteria: 1. A standard jazz tune (Fly Me to the Moon, Stormy Weather, etc.); please bring a copy of the sheet music for the accompanist 2. Auditionees will be required to perform range and tonal memory tests. 3. Auditions may take place in person on the campus of Augustana University with Dr. Russell Svenningsen, by submitting a private YouTube, or audition via Skype. 4. To set up your audition, contact Dr. Svenningsen at: Tuition includes a camp t-shirt, lunch and dinner, some fun evening activities, plus a JazzFest pizza party! *A commuter is a camper who is not sleeping on campus and does not eat breakfast. 605-335-6101

Big Kid on Campus
Do you know or have kids that have in some way been affected by cancer, whether that means they have battled it themselves or have loved ones that have? Would they enjoy spending a day at Georgia Tech with college students? Then bring them on out to Georgia Tech Christian Campus Fellowship for Big Kid on Campus, a Saturday full of fun! We are hosting a day full of fun entertainment and activities including games, crafts, makeovers, kickball with the Georgia Tech Softball team, and even an appearance by Santa! If you are interested in volunteering to make this happen and spend the day with these wonderful kiddos, you are also welcome! Riverside Retreat, formerly the South Florida United Methodist Camp, was renamed in 2006 for its location on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River.
