CFTC Summer Drama Camp -Extended Care Full Summer - Lanier Middle School
Instructor: Fairfax Theatre Company Ages: 5-13 years Monday- Friday, Jul 18 ? Aug 12 (see sessions below), 9:00am -3:00pm Location: Lanier Middle School, 3801 Jermantown Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030 Truro Anglican Church, 10520 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030 At our unique Summer Drama Camp, kids write and improv to create their own play or musical performed at the end of each week! Each day campers rotate through sessions in art, music, dance, acting and stage combat - with some fun time for camp games and recess. Campers are divided by age and each play is written and performed with peers. Summer Camp Week 2 Ages 8-12 - First Free Church
CAMP DETAILS Fractured Fairy Tales Week In our Fractured Fairytale world, students will learn how to adapt traditional fairytales using unexpected characterization, modified points of view and bizarre plot development. Working as an ensemble well then dramatize our new fractured fairy tale using music and movement. Working alongside one of our professional teaching artists students will also play fun theater games and learn how to develop characters for the stage. This camp aims to cultivate creativity and give participants experience of creating their very own theater piece. Children spending the full day with us should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break at the park Musical Theater Week Thank you for the music! In this camp, students will have fun exploring their own personal voices through songs and dances from various musicals! In addition to drama and improv games that foster theater skills in creativity, self-expression and teamwork, campers will create their own show that incorporates songs from their favorite musicals. Throughout the week we will also work together to create prop, costume and set pieces to use in our culminating original show that highlights our collaborative efforts! 773-944-9146
