If youve ever wanted to design a play jungle for hamsters, a four-story luxury dog house, or the coolest cat castle the world has ever seen, this class is for you! In this workshop, well use Design Thinking to research, invent, and prototype new solutions for happier pets. Come prepared to create, think about animals, and build a pet utopia! Instructor Bio: Rei Jackler is an Oakland arts educator, design teacher, writer, and maker nerd. She holds a Masters in Teaching from Stanford University, where she also trained in Design Thinking at the D.School. In Oakland, she is currently Makerspace Manager for the La Escuelita Elementary School Makerspace, and has also taught design with Chapter 510. Rei loves making of all kinds: knitting multi-colored scarves, writing fantastical short stories, and baking with a lot of chocolate. 2016 Summer Clinic Series - Both Days - Gladchuck Field Hockey Complex
Each day will comprise of a 3 hour clinic covering various skills and field hockey concepts along with competitive games. Additionally, on Saturday there will be a 2 hour play session in the late afternoon that will comprise only games. You have the option of signing up for 1 day or for both. The concepts covered each day will be different and the games at the end of each clinic will focus on concepts covered that day. All players will be coached by current Division 1 coaches, as well as current and former Division 1 players. Registration will be limited to the first 150 applicants and is open to players in grades 3-12. Players will be divided into skill groups based on age level and experience level. 413-504-8539

During this session the kids are given safety instruction for every day use of basic hand tools such as screw drivers. Your kids work in groups to take apart every day household items that the kids are familiar with. This includes non-operational power tools, computers, home printers, alarm clocks, DVD players, ect. This session is designed for the kids to understand the concept that every day items are built and there are components, big or small inside of them.
