Ever wonder what its like to work at a tech company? In this workshop, well look at the many aspects of what goes into building a product like Facebook or Twitter. Students will wear many hats, playing the role of product designers, developers, and customers. To top it all off, students will build their own application and gain a basic understanding of the Ruby programming language. This is a great introduction to programming for teens in grades 9-12. Come spend a week playing and learning about ?America?s favorite pastime?? baseball! Designed to teach your child baseball-specific techniques and build skills to better play baseball in a fun and encouraging environment. Your child will: - learn the proper techniques for hitting, catching, throwing, and running - find out the difference between and four-seam and two-seam fastball and when to use them - be taught the importance of preparation and practice - apply techniques daily and get better! These 1 or 2 week sessions provide first time sailors aged 7-9 with the basics of sailing in a fun, safe and encouraging environment. Sailors will be using Prams, which are ideal for 2-3 sailors in 1 boat. Students will be taught the points of sail, basics of sailing upwind, downwind and between 2 points, along with sail trim, knot tying and general seamanship. Graduation takes place at the conclusion of each session, and parents are encouraged to come visit the Island and see their young sailors in action. 9524041645.0
