Beginning and Advanced Inline Skating - The Evergreen School
Beginning skaters will be taught the basic foundation of skate moves which includes striding, stopping, and turning. Additional skills taught include the "rules of the road", how to fall properly, and various tricks. To enroll in the advanced camp, children must have previously taken one of Skate Journeys beginning camps. Skate Journeys provides the proper sized SEBA skates for each child plus all the protective gear (except for helmets). Please provide your child with a helmet. Lil Sluggers is an instructional youth baseball program designed to introduce kids ages 2 through 6 to the game of baseball and prepare them for their journey into organized team play by improving and developing their social and physical skills both on and off the field. Class energy, pace, and a small player to coach ratio results in more action and more fun! Basic baseball fundamentals such as throwing, fielding, hitting, catching, and base running are core curriculum. Floor Hockey Camp - Main Street Recreation Center
Check out a one-of-a-kind indoor game that involves the fast pace of real hockey but on a solid surface. During this camp, participants will learn the offensive and defensive fundamentals and mechanics of floor hockey. This camp will include stick handling, passing, shooting and goalie techniques as well as team drills. Participants will also develop endurance, coordination and speed through fast and fun floor hockey games played each day of camp. Each participant should bring a water bottle. Introduction to Sports Performance - Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School
Participants in this session will explore and learn sport and athletic performance methods including but not limited to strength, power, explosiveness, speed, quickness, agility, and endurance. Students will be taught multiple exercises, techniques, and routines that can be useful in developing a solid foundation in performance training. They will be exposed to isometric, isotonic, and isokinetic muscular contractions. All attendees will be tested on several different athletic performance measurements and given their results at the conclusion of the sessions, therefore providing areas in which they can improve in the future. Coach Joel Clem is Brebeuf Jesuits Strength and Conditioning Coach, Wellness Center Coordinator, and Physical Education faculty member. During his time as the strength and conditioning coach for Brebeufs athletic teams, he has trained State Championship volleyball, soccer, and hockey teams. He has also trained State Runner-Up football, baseball, soccer, and golf teams. Coach Clem has helped mold over 50 Brebeuf Jesuit student-athletes into collegiate athletes, including over a dozen competing at the Division I level. 3175247050.0
