This camp will explore the inner harbor of Redwood City, while learning the basics of water safety, kayaking, outrigger paddling, and stand up paddling (SUP). Each day participants and their instructors will paddle to a different destination around the Harbor learning about the conservation and ecology of Redwood City, while having fun paddling. On Friday, campers will enjoy Kayak and Standup Paddle Board Relay Races. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Price includes Camp T-shirt, goodies and a certificate with group photo. Campers will learn the ancient art of fencing beginning with the modern version of the court sword. Campers will learn basic foot drill, parry drill, and attacks. Camp Yakety Yak (CYY) is a 501c3 organization that was created in 2010 to help children with special needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability) grow socially and emotionally by improving their communication skills. Our educational mission is twofold: 1) provide instruction in social & emotional skills to children (ages 6-11) with special needs & their siblings to support friendship development in a day camp setting and 2) provide an opportunity for future professionals in educational and therapeutic fields to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in working with children with special needs.
